How people deal with money matters to God. In fact, it is one of the most frequently mentioned subjects in the Bible. Numerous authors have given readers their ideas about how they should handle money, but it's time to hear what God has to say. Topics include everything from working, saving, and tithing to how God wants people to treat the poor. All the scriptural references to money have been collected and explained in a clear a concise format. The book's length and focus make it perfect for readers on the go who love the Word of God.
A compilation of all the verses in the Bible that talk about money or treasure. The commentary on verses is a summary of what commentators say: if there is general agreement, the book may quote a particular commentator or simply explain the common explanation. However, if there are a variety of opinions about the meaning of a particular verse, the author summarizes the main explanations so you can make up your own mind.
The books in this "Everything the Bible Says About ..." series give an overview of Scripture about a particular topic--not as effective for learning and understanding as if you looked up the verses and did a word study on your own, but a good way to learn something about a variety of topics that would be difficult to cover on your own because of time constraints.
I guess it's nice to have all the Bible verses that mention money pulled together in one place, but I expected more commentary. The best part, I thought, were the writings at the back of the book, pulled from various authors, which explained what they believed was the right use of money (based on Biblical teachings, of course).
This is basically a somewhat organized collection of the Bible verses which refer to money, riches, success, etc. A good concordance could probably do about as well. There was very little additional comment/writing by the author; just a paragraph or two at the beginning of each section. I did not find it very useful.
Kind of a waste of paper. I could have do the same with a bunch of 3x5 index cards and a concordance, and what little commentary there is was trite. I suppose having the references all in one place is a little useful.
I learn more about the word "money" in the correct context. I'm giving it 3 stars because in some chapters, I wanted more explanation and didn't get it. Overall, it was a good read.
To those who say, "These are only a digest of Bible verses on Money...", what better than the Bible to speak on such a weighty issue? a very worthwhile review of the relevant texts on the subject.
