In the not too distant future, the world is ruled by two superpowers. Both sides keep the peace by relying on smart machines that have changed the nature of war. Intelligent and efficient, they have surpassed their handlers in every way, except in terms of freewill. But as a potentially fatal crisis looms, how will the machines react? Will they continue to obey their handlers, or disobey a few humans in order to save humanity?

My first published novel, The Cronian Incident, (Formist Series #1) was released in 2017 and cracked the top #50 Hot New Releases on Amazon. The follow-up The Jovian Manifesto was released in 2018, and the finale in the trilogy - The Frost Line Fracture - was released in December 2020.

I read this book in Dec. 2011. I picked up a copy free after being told where I could find it by the author. All opinions are my own.
My Synopsis: The major alliances in the world have developed Smartbombs, bombs with artificial intelligence that are controlled by a Central AI and designed to carefully destroy only enemy targets while keeping civilians and architecture safe. However, a major crisis is arising and suddenly the Central AI has denied access to everybody. What has happened? Has it been hacked into? And what will happen to the armed forces without the protection of the Smartbombs?
My Thoughts: An interesting what-if situation regarding the evolution of warfare and the evolution of artificial intelligence, this short sci-fi story packs a lot of pop into a short piece. Those with an interest in sci-fi, short stories, and the evolution of awareness should find this piece interesting.
