E V Thompson was born in London and spent nine years in the Navy before joining Bristol police. He moved to Hong Kong, then Rhodesia and had over 200 stories published before returning to England to become a full-time award-winning writer.
Loved this book - it think its classed as a 'romanitc adventure' never thought i would be reading such material, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a great love story, with a heroin and hero that were meant to be togehter, despite the circumstances that they foind themselves in!
This was the last in a trilogy of books, might read the others,,,,
Another galloping tale, very engrossing like the previous ones in this series. Enjoyed the character of Dewi, but the prolongation of their unspoken relationship became a little predictable, and then the ending was strangely rushed! I always enjoy reading Thompson's historical novels of Cornwall as I recognise occasional historical facts & stories I know, and find out about many more...

I don’t really like historical sagas but on holiday some years ago in Cornwall a local bookshop introduced me to this author who lived nearby and I’ve been a fan ever since. Great adventures, storytelling and romance
An alright novel on the whole, however, I lost interest halfway through, not that it was particularly intriguing to begin with. Dewi was always going to end up with Nathan. There were a lot of chapters that could've been made into paragraphs, although mercifully the chapters were always short. The writing was always including points that I believe were unnecessary. There is not much to say of this book except that it was somewhat generic.
If you want to read a novel that will keep you on edge, read pride and prejudice, now thats a truly good historical romance novel written masterfully.
