Growing up as part of the Smoky mountains, I have heard many ghost tales from my grandmother and other family members. These were tales I had never heard and were mostly from the North Carolina side of the Smoky Mountains. They were similar to the tales from my family and I enjoyed this book very much. Having Smoky Mountain connections made this book appealing to me.
Juanitta is a wonderful writer. The details of each story make you see inside each person's place and time of the events. Her history of the events are very well written .
This is the second of her books I've had the pleasure to read.
I liked the book more for the interesting bits of history than for the ghostly parts. I like when ghost stories are told with pizzazz, but these were told with a healthy dose of skepticism. I’m already skeptical so I want the author to try and convince me.
This is a fun and interesting book. I loved reading it and learned more about the Smokey Mountains and their history and people. Each story comes alive. I highly recommend it!
