You are rich, family oriented, friendly and nice with sexy body but with one problem, you don't have the face to show to everyone that you are beautiful. Are you ready to waste everything to be changed and to show that you had the beauty to be loved by anyone? What if one day when you wake up, you see yourself in the mirror the new you. You see the person that you are wish for but can you pay the changes in the end?

Before she become the impostor, she is Devin Ventura, a twenty-year-old student but with one problem, she had the looks that every guys do not wish to have. When her father called her in Manila to come back to their family estate, she don't have a choice but to follow everything her father said even her stepmother do not like to see her face in the house. Before the tragic accident happen, someone wanted to kill her before her birthday. She survived and when she woke up, she saw her new self, Mariz Florencio, the girl who had a perfect life or not.

Mariz Florencio is married to a wealthy businessman Jason Florencio, the man that dreamed by most of the girls, but his marriage life become burden when Mariz broke everything into pieces. When Mariz went back, she changed into most decent way; she is the opposite of the old. Will Jason find true love from Mariz or to Devin, the true impostor?

Impostor by Martha Cecilia is the new height in Tagalog romance novel, mixed with thriller or suspense and a drama that will broke everyone's heart in the end. The promising book had been adopted into a telenovela which nominated in The International Emmy Awards. This new level of suspense and secrecy made everyone into the stage of Devin's life, to be loved by any man because of the beauty inside. Is that what most woman wish for, a true love?

This book made a new level in suspense or thriller genre. Most of the time Martha Cecilia usually write romance book with the same formula and of course, this book includes that formula of her but she mixed with different seasoning. The suspense that most readers wanted from the best Tagalog romance novelist, this should be read by everyone who wanted to practice writing romance and those curious readers who were damn shocked by the news.

It only gives hope to most female readers because it broke the stereotype of the characters, being beautiful. So most of the writer's there, this is quite a big problem for most of you, how can you make ugly character's shines through all the readers like this? Can you do it like Martha Cecilia's style or will you surprise readers with your witty new style? I can't stand not liking this book and made a big deal for me for breaking the major rule in the romance formula.

Because romance author have limited word counts, the story is fast-phase and lack of explanation. For example, what happened to Devin in New York or how did Devin made Mariz's child fall in love to her sweetness? This is normal but I think if she made it thicker, I will give it 5 and will be one of my favorites. I suggest, this must be translated in English for foreign readers but that's just hope. I can still smell the love...

I don't know which one, but I loved the series of Impostora from the other network that produced the series of this. I have not seen the one from ABS-CBN, but damn the other network made it like I cannot even sleep without watching it. And finally I came across the pocketbook! It had the same idea, but the plot were different, nonetheless I love the pair though it quite happened so fast. Is there any English novel with the same plot as this?

It was that time when I had nothing more to read, so I decided to try reading this one out just to kill time. However, I have been so engaged with English novels for a really long time and I plead guilty for not reading more works written in Filipino. Frankly, I find its writing style quite dull and cringy. I still did enjoy the book, to be honest. It was a great read and I wasn't able to point out the real *suspect* which was very unlikely for me. Lol I'm telling you HER STEP-BROTHER WAS INNOCENT (well aside from his lil harrassment) HAHAHAHAH

Sa lahat ng re-make ng ABS-CBN, ito yung pinaka-maganda and the best. Halos kinuha nila talaga yung story sa book. Hindi ako nagsisi na pinanood ko toh.

I was about to rate this to 3/5 but the plot twist boosted the rating to another star up. I also had to consider the time that it was written and published to avoid getting frustrated with the characters. I knew this isn't applicable to the more traditional and tight-knit family values of the 90s, but some points I got that I knew won't sit well with the modern readers like me include:

- The demonization of Mariz who explicitly said that she didn't want a kid but was forced to do so by her husband, who eventually alienated her when she was, in my opinion, battling postpartum depression.
- The hint of youth being a sexier and more attractive attribute (not to mention the 13-year age gap, which was also a point of contention in one of Jonaxx's works).
- The meekness of Divine vs the confidence of Mariz (which was also done to more profoundly paint Mariz in a bad light).

I read this pocketbook in my teenage years.
I was still exploring my 'book world'.

Since this is a Tagalog pocketbook, I'll write my review in Tagalog.

Okay naman, kinilig ako nung binasa ko at nakakatuwa yung mga tagalog words na ginamit especially when the author was describing about the sex scenes. Over all, it was a good read pocket book.
