This is a biography with a difference, for it reviews in the light of the latest advances in science the life, ideas and work of one of the greatest scientists who has ever lived. Such an approach offers a better insight into the intrinsic connection between the physical conceptions, philosophical views, public ideas, moral principles, creative psychology, aesthetic inclinations and plain human charm of Albert Einstein, the man, the scientist and the philosopher. At the same time this approach enables one more fully to appreciate the scope of the revolution in the notions of space, time, motion and matter brought about by Einstein, grasp the essential features of 20th century science, and understand why both the physical theories and the image of the man who created them will live on forever.
