The half-breed Pinkerton tracker Joshua Strongheart is investigating the disappearance of a fellow agent on the plains in 1868 when he becomes involved in a cat-and-mouse hunt for a monstrous Lakota psychopathic serial killer named "Blood Feather" (2013). This evildoer moves back and forth between killing his own Sioux brethren and white settlers in gruesome fashion. As Strongheart gets closer to finding him, Blood Feather sets his sights on Strongheart, Strongheart's love interest, and a young child the two are temporarily caring for.
Verdict: A lackluster modern serial killer tale with boring prose, outlandish action sequences, a superhumanly cartoon hero and villain, a lack of surprises, and odd interactions with real-historical characters that don't add to the story or read authentic in this kind of modern thriller attempt.

I enjoyed this book. I like how he intertwined historical places and people into his story. I cannot begin to imagine what it's like to be in the head of a serial killer but Mr. Bendell seemed to do a good job. Learning Blood Feathers background almost makes you feel sorry for him.
