Today I will be a free woman, Kelcee Lieberman thought on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Instead, her property was seized, the business she built from the ground up had been snatched from under her, and all her assets frozen. Simply put, today was a Nightmare! To make matters worse, the cause of her misfortune was the man she planned to divorce today, Maurice “Mighty” Liberman. She'd been so close, almost in the parking lot of the court building when she got the call. Mighty, a vicious crime boss, had been in a horrible car accident. Arriving at the hospital and finding her once robust husband in a coma, Kelcee is left to fend for herself and her twins. Determined not to let her present circumstances destroy her, Kelcee must find a way for her family to survive. Her back against the wall, the media and FBI watching her every move, Kelcee sees few options, finally making the perilous decision to sit at the helm of her husband’s empire. Will she have what it takes to be Boss Lady or will she succumb to the forces against her and perish?

Oooooooo.....Elizabeth LaShaun , stuck her foot in on this one. An excellent book that kept me guessing and wondering almost to the end, and then it had me saying " what da what???". Mighty was a drug-kingpin and a all around not nice guy who ended up in a coma. His wife left broke and destitute has to make the choice of trying to make it the honest way or to try and take over his business. Kelcee was once the owner of a employment agency and lost it when her husband and all his assets were frozen by the feds struggles to make ends meet , especially after her residence is taken leaving her and the children homeless. Kelcee must make some hard choices in order to survive, but thank goodness for good friends and relatives who are determined to help her though. I am only giving you a tease of the book, Im afraid if I say more that I will give it all away. It is a great book!!

This is my second read from Elizabeth LaShaun and she continues to impress me. If you are a lover of street lit, with a bit of hot romance thrown in this is the book for you. This book got off to a fast paced start and Kelcee was at the center of it all. She was such a strongly written character and handled herself so well throughout the book. What she has to do was truly unexpected, and really a surprise. Mighty her lunatic husband was something else, and I thought it was a very good touch that the author had his thoughts in the book so that the reader knew exactly where he was coming from. The supporting cast was also great. Ranee is Kelcee's right hand woman, Craig her cousin, and Lance her protector. Overall excellent writing and great storytelling.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! This is definitely a must read!! I loved Kelcee, Lance, Craig, Ranee, Vincent and Joshlynn. I hated Craze and Mighty with a passion, but most of all this book was AWESOME!!! I sure wouldn't mind having men like Craig and Lance watching my back. Dang there's nothing I can say without giving the story away, except it was a roller-coaster ride from page one, there was never a dull moment, definitely a page turner. Don't let the cover fool you...it just represents Kelcee's natural style and grace, however she was no church girl! Ranee was truly a ride or die chick and she could hold her own with the big dawgs...LOL! Kudos Elizabeth LaShaun, however you know I'm gonna really be begging for the next book now in your online book club. You've gone and done it now.....LOL!!

Kelcee Liberman Has finally made the decision to leave her husband Maurice aka Mighty. Her good spirits come to a halt once she finds out that he has been in a terrible accident which resulted in a coma. Her day goes from bad to worst when she finds out she has lost everything. Kelcee finds her back against and the wall and must make the hardest choice of her life but she is determined to come out on top.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to the end. It had everything I needed to call this book a 5 star. I LOVED all the male characters and hoping that they will appear it again one day. I'm also happy that this book takes place in my hometown. I knew all the places mention. Great Job can't wait to read more of you work

This novel is HOT! the action, the drama, the adventure is par excellence!! EL did her thing! Love both Kelz and Ranee' were too double tuff chicks on a mission and about their business! Lance and Craig, lawwwwwd talking about hot and spicy, these bruthas had it going all the way on!! Mighty and Craze were two punk azz beeyotches who needed to take a long underwater walk and breathe deeply!! This novel is a complete page turner, the drama starts at page 1 and doesn't end until you hit the credits! Cannot wait for "the rest of the story".

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were great. Especially, Lance and Craig. The book flowed well. The characters fit in the perfect places. I also like how the the author described the characters. The right amount suspense/mystery and drama. It was refreshing to see how strong and how vulnerable a man can really be. As woman, it's always an honor to know that your man will go through the fire with you and for you and Elizabeth LaShaun did a great job in expressing it.

Great read.

must say "In His Absence" was "Off the Chain"! This was my first book that I have read by Elizabeth LaShaun and I really enjoyed the book as well as, her style of writing. This book touched on so many aspects of life, friendships, deceit, and love. The characters were great, even though I think my favorit was Renee, she was the true definition of a strong black women.

The beginning of the book was really good, but my excitement started to dwindle in the middle of the book. I didn't care for the senseless killings. There were parts of the story that was just unbelievable. It wasn't a bad read, I just enjoyed this authors 'Inconvenient Love' and 'Lethal Love' books much better.

This is definitely one to read. This was my first time reading this author. However, I be picking up her next book for sure. This book took you into the lives of the characters and made you root for them. I loved it. Especially the character Lance.

Definitely a 5-star read. Some serious twist and turns in this piece. There were some grammatical errors and maybe that was just on the kindle but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am ready for the sequel now because I know there has to be one.

Very good read, the only reason I did not give this book 5 stars was due to editing . Editing was horrible, book was wonderful.
