Since I was already a fan of Debora Geary and Terri Reed, this book was a no brainer, and as expected very enjoyable. Ms. Geary provided a wonderful Halloween (excuse me, Samhain)story of witchcraft and Internet gaming with "A Samhain Surprise" featuring one of her more irascible characters, Marcus (who we have all grown to love). Since I'm a fan of her books, this story was especially heart warming because I am familiar with all the players. Ms. Reid provided a stand-alone paranormal romance with "Orion's Moon" which was slightly different than her other series (Mary O'Reilly and Ghosts of New Orleans)but nonetheless very enchanting. The other stories were equally enjoyable and have provided me with new (to me) authors and series to explore. Great entertainment and a chance to contribute to a wonderful cause, with the proceeds going to Kids Need to Read...who could ask for anything better?!

2018 2nd re-read I only read A Ghost of a Match by Misty Evans this time around. A short story in the Witches Anonymous series, about Keisha and Gabe. It's good, but it's too short. I'd love to see more of them together, Gabe has changed a lot from the beginning of the series and I would be interested to read more about how and why from his perspective. I really like Keisha too, I'd absolutely love to read more from her POV.

The second he laid eyes on me, the Highlander stepped forward and reached out, calling me his wench and listing off the things he wanted to do to my body.
And they say romance is dead.
Gabriel pointed the tip of the sword at the man's Adam's apple. The Highlander froze, hands still reaching for me.
I slapped his hands away. "Knock it off, He-Man. Women only like that crap in romance novels."

I was happy to pay for this as it was for charity, but I was generally disappointed with the quality of writing. The storylines were mostly OK, if predictable, but I only really enjoyed a couple of the stories. Much too chick-litty for my tastes. I don't mind a bit of frivolous romance every now and again, but I prefer my fantasy stories with a bit more grit.

The occasional spelling or grammar error stood out, as did one of the characters being a descendent of Diana, who was the Virgin Goddess.

Not terrible for a quick Hallowe'en read, but aimed at a narrow audience that I'm barely on the fringe of.

Wonderful collection of good witch tales, without being heavy on the moralizing (only a little) and leavened with humor. Done as well as one of Martin Greenburg’s collections. Not primarily humorous, but definitely left me with a smile, while introducing me to some authors that I will have to look out for in the future. All proceeds from sales of this book go to Kids Need to Read a charity supported by Nathan Fillion.

This little book of 12 short paranormal romance stories all about witches was a fun, quick read, ideal to fit in in short snippets of time between doing other things. There were quite a few authors I had read before or that I have on my to be read list, which was nice to see. Most of these stories were generally predictable but as they were all short I couldn't expect anything less. And for about £1 it was well worth the money!

A decent anthology with stories about witches by 12 paranormal authors. Some of the stories were better than others. I like to read anthologies as a way to 1. Read more by authors I already love (in this case Debora Geary,) and 2. To discover new authors (in this case Barbra Annino and Terri Reed.) So it was definitely worth the $0.99 purchase price. A couple of the stories I could have done without, or maybe I should have just started with other stories by those authors first!

i was only familiar with one author from this book when i started but i am glad i picked it up. the stories are short enough to read in a short break in work and i really enjoyed the majority of them. even the ones i didnt enjoy so much were well written, just not my cup of tea. i definitely found a few authors that i will be adding to my wish list. i couldnt choose a favourite as i loved a few of them equally!

I love anthologies, because it gives me a chance to meet new authors. Not a single author on this book was familiar to me when I found it, but after reading Wicked I would certainly look for most of them again. No, not every story in this book was great, but there were enough that it made the low price quite worth it. Overall it was an entertaining read.

Short but funny and interesting, really spiked my interest towards some of the authors that I didn't know yet.

This is a collection of stories about, you guessed it…witches!

In one story, magical cookies enable a woman to communicate with her pets. In another, Crazy Zelda was just that: crazy…and boring!

Storie were confusing and senseless. Yeah, I get that this is supposed to have a wiccan lore, but all this voodoo-hoodoo stuff was putting me to sleep. A few stories were okay, but most were not. And what were aliens doing in here?

The best stories were: “Black Magic Wiccan” and “The Witch is Back”

Barbra Annino & Christiana Miller - Tale Of Two Witches

Since her aunt Tillie can't help her old friend any more because she is dead, Mara has to travel to Amethyst, IL to help Stacy and her grandmother...

This story joins up Annino's series with Miller's series. I haven't read any books by both authors but I'm pretty sure I will at least read the first book in both series. Good start for a story unfortunately some things didn't work for me. Stacy – who doesn't have a clue how to use magic – knows all of a sudden what to do. The ending was too rushed but I enjoyed the story nonetheless.

JL Bryan – Cats And Dogs

Something's wrong with Sadie's dog. Her neighbour gives 'kinship cookies' to understand him a little bit better...

Sweet sweet story.

Camilla Chafer – The Trouble With Spells

Seren drives home to her parents' house to introduce her boyfriend to them...

Really liked the idea and the characters. This is part of the Stella Mayweather Series.

Wren Emerson – The Hazards Of Desire

Crazy Zelda tells a story about love...

One of my favourites! I just love to read about vengeful women.

Misty Evans – A Ghost Of A Match

Story about a voodoo matchmaker...

This is the only story I did not enjoy...at all.

Deborah Geary – A Samhain Surprise

Marcus hates Halloween so he decides to play a little Enchanter's Realm – an online rpg for witches.

It was quite confusing for me, entertaining though. Maybe I understand it a little bit better if I read Geary's novel “A Mondern Witch”.

Toni LoTempio – Black Magic Wiccan

Wiccan witch Morgan Hawkes is called to get rid of a bad ghost...

Again one of my favourites. I like Morgan and she seems to be quite a badass. I will definitely check out LoTempio's novel “No Rest For The Wicca” although it is probably (judging from the cover) a bit romance heavy.

Dale Mayer – Riana's Revenge

Rianna is a hydromancer and must face a challenge to save her place as the rightful heir to her house.

This is the only story that has a pure fantasy feel to it. Good vs bad, loved it. One of the best stories!

Rose Pressey – The Witch Is Back

Stormy buys a beautiful pouch from an antique store only to find out that in that pouch is a crystal that will change her life forever...

Loved it. Fun story. I will read a book by Pressey for sure!

Edie Ramer – The Kiss

Emma is the only hope for a dying man...

Heavy on instalove. This should be a modern take on Sleeping Beauty, I found it quite weird.

Terri Reid – Orion's Moon

Cassidy thinks she can finally move on with her life. She even has a new dog – Orion...

The romance is a bit too fast but the story is good nonetheless.

This was one of the better anthologies I have read. There was not one story that I did not enjoy and want to continue with. It was very cohesive in its theme, which was Halloween and witches, by having some of the best authors writing about the subject. There were several authors whom I already read such as Rose Pressey, Debora Geary, and Camilla Chafer. Then there are the authors I have never read before but will definitely be reading in the future.

Though every story shared a theme each one was quite unique in its delivery and tone. There were stories which were lighthearted in tone, such as "Cats and Dogs" by J.L. Bryan the story of a woman who is having trouble with a dog who is not ill but seems to be sad. Her neighbor gives her cookies and instructs her eat one a day to give her insight into what is wrong with her pet. Before she has a chance to eat them however her pets get into them with the most spectacular effect ever.

Then you have stories which are a little darker like "The Hazards of Desire" by Wren Emerson about a town of witches. In Desire all the women are witches and the men are bargaining chips. Zelda was once the first daughter and leader of the Coven, but now she is just a broken old woman treated as a pariah amongst the town people. She tells a tale to a young second daughter about true love in Desire and what happens when people have powers like they do. A cautionary tale of dark desires, love, and obsession.

There is something here for everyone. Enjoy a short tale from your favorites and find someone new to follow. You cannot go wrong this book.

It is full of some amazing stories written but some even more amazing authors and all proceeds for the purchase of this book go to a wonderful charity called, A Kid's Need to Read set up by Nathan Fillion.

This is a fun collection from different writers of short stories. I enjoy these from time to time it allows you to see bits and pieces of their new works as well as new authors and what they may be working on. The ideas are often fresh and funny and the pieces flow nicely together for a quick read in between books.

This was a fast read. I enjoyed it very much and loved that I was able to get a sample of so many new authors. Most of the stories were humorous and I caught myself giggling several times. I'm not into dark magical stories but this type of light hearted story is just fun.

This is a cute collection of short stories by wonderful authors, many of which I already enjoy reading, and a few I will be checking out later. These short stories are wonderful for a quick read when you can't devote a lot of time to a full length novel.
