Hans Hollien, artist, architect, designer, planner, teacher and writer, organized the Cooper-Hewitt Museum's first exhibition as the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Design in 1976. Gathering together the works and theories of such modern designers, architects and urban planners as R. Buckminster Fuller, Richard Meier, Ettore Sottsass, George Nelson and others, this companion piece to the exhibit examines elements of human life and its relationship to the contemporary (as of 1976) environment. Contains many interesting essays and illuminating illustrations and photographs.

Great little catalogue from the Cooper Hewitt in 1976. I especially love the Ungers section on city metaphors.
