Make Me A Match

Rate this book
Can an imperfect pair result in a perfect match?

Eric Stewart can't believe his sisters would stoop so low.
Sexy, dangerous and fancy free, Eric is about to turn forty, and his three sisters think it's high time he found a good woman and settled down.

Eric can't believe his meddling sisters have signed him up with the city's hottest matchmaking agency. The only way to get them a refund is to get himself rejected by every single match. Tessa McBride is working for the matchmaker, and she and Eric have a history. He humiliated her when she was a shy, trusting girl. Well, she's not anymore.

She vows to prove to Eric that she's more than a match for his schemes--and show him what he's been missing all these years.

There were time while reading this book that I genuinely had no idea what was going on. The plot focuses around Eric and Tessa but often the supporting characters become main characters in some places and it truly was so confusing. I was relieved when I finished this book and to this day, I really can’t explain what it’s actually about

I was luckily enough to get this for free on a ‘stuff your kindle day’.
I was pleasantly surprised by this story, I loved Eric and Tessa and also all of Eric’s family.
His nephew’s however are a different story 🤣 the trouble they got themselves into even got me riled up 😂
I had some laugh out loud moments with this book which I didn’t expect either.

My only negative is that sometimes with each new chapter I was finding myself feeling confused as to where in the story we were until a few pages into that chapter.

Overall nice read to end the year on 😊

Delightful

This was a sweet, sexy and fun read with endearing characters both leading and peripheral. Romantic and also family minded, delightful.

This book has a good lovely ending which I like. I can say that it is so hard to find this in a writing or a drama for that instance. However it was a bit draggy in the middle. Lucky I am a reader who almost never give up in a book ☺️

Bobby Hutchinson’s medical series or actually any of her other series are much better than this particular book! Was not a fan at all!!!! It never progressed from the original storyline! Love, love, love all her other books!
I guess I will stick to the more serious dramas where I actually learn some thing!

Didn’t love

Could not get invested in this book. Ended up being a DNF. The characters didn’t seem interesting and really slow start.

Could have been fun

But I'm not a fan of the undertone of Asian racism and fat phobia. I really hope you dropped that in the rest of the series but I won't be reading it.

Excellent

This is a delightful book to read with several laugh-out-loud scenes. The elements of a dysfunctional family, siblings love and support of each other, romance and acceptance of reality blend this into an enjoyable reading experience. Add into this mix two feisty mischievous little boys who bring their innocent openness.

Not for me

That I did not like anybody in the book is a testament to the author’s skill with words. The book is about Eric and Tessa neither of whom is an appealing character. The plotting was all over the place. Everyone reaching a self realization at once seemed much too convenient to me. I was very disappointed with the resolution of the tension between Eric and Tessa.

Kids! Right? Of course, right!

So cute!! Tessa and Eric are an interesting pair who, like Eric's parents, were wrapped up in themselves. The difference, though, was that each was wrapped up in him/herself whereas Sonny and Georgia were wrapped up in themselves as a couple. The angst was there, regardless. But, well, kids!!! Lol.

This book was adorable and very funny. I found myself laughing out loud more than once. I LOVED every single character and the family dynamics in this book. I took off half a star because the ending wasn’t my favourite. Everyone was happy in the end but I felt as though it was missing a bit of closure or an epilogue at least. Other than that a great read that I really enjoyed!

WTF
Must everyone in this book be an asshole?
I liked Eric because he is upfront about the fact that likes to fuck around.
But there is so much drama going on just to cause drama.
There is so much useless stuff going on that I got lost.
Couldn’t stand anyone and couldn’t care less about what happened to them.
All losers and the thought I had to read another 200 pages made me want to cry.

My first book from this author & pleasantly surprised! I loved the story and most of the characters (the cringe was intentional) but most of all, I loved that this boo made me laugh out loud several times. Definitely didn’t see all of the situations & goofy happenings coming. Will certainly be on the lookout for more from Bobby Hutchinson.

Family

The hero has raised his three sisters and still watches over them as adults. He comes to the rescue when needed and fills the roll of favorite uncle to two nephews. He is very attractive and has a "catch and release" attitude towards women.

If there's anything I hate more than open-ended books is one that ends abruptly. It goes so slow and after 75%, everything rushes. I liked the characters and all, but the author made some choices I consider questionable. I don't give more stars because of this aspect.

This book was good and I ended up finishing it but it didn’t keep my attention too much. It was a good book to take a break from big chapter books that I was reading. It was good but it needed more to it!

I really didn't like this book and i almost didn't finish. The characters where shallow and had no chemistry. I really didn't like any of the characters. The story was confusing at times where some parts took really long en some where too quick.
It was just not for me.

There aren’t any accidents

There aren’t any accidents, that people come into our lives as teachers for us, even when the things they teach us aren’t, very happy.
