Anna Elliott is an author of historical fiction and fantasy. She enjoys stories about strong women, and loves exploring the multitude of ways women can find their unique strengths. She was delighted to lend a hand with the Sherlock & Lucy series, and thrilled to continue a new spin-off series featuring Becky and Flynn. She wrote her second series, The Pride & Prejudice Chronicles , chiefly to satisfy her own curiosity about what might have happened to Elizabeth Bennet, Mr. Darcy, and all the other wonderful cast of characters after the official end of Jane Austen’s classic work.

Entertaining mystery listening 🎶🔰

Becky is injured and in a coma while Flynn and Dr Watson investigate what happened. Becky is kidnapped from the hospital but escapes with the help from a double agent. Back to the hospital then Becky is kidnapped again. They end up ☝ on the train 🚆 to Dover and must defuse a bomb. All goes will and they end up ☝ in London at Baker Street. I would recommend this series and author to fans of Sherlock Holmes. I can't wait for the next book in the series. 2023 👒😀😡💘

Excellent story! I always loved Becky and Flynn, and here we have them in their adulthood (and boy! how I love that they both followed Dr Watson's path in one way or another!); both of them smart, resourceful, competent and still a terror *laughs*

The story is fantastic, full of action and suspense, with our heroes in many dire situations, some characters from the past and a historical one that I'll let you discover by yourself because I reaaaaaally loved seeing him here and guessing who he was.

And oh, Becky! Yes, I understand your struggle, and yet, I was sure that, in the end, you'd take the right decision!

Seriously, this is a fantastic read, whether you follow the series or not. But I would recommend that you read the whole thing, beginning with The Crown Jewel Mystery You won't regret it!

I'm a bit behind in my reading, so I haven't yet read the first three Becky and Flynn books. This one caught me up quite nicely, and I really enjoyed the adult interactions with Lucy, et al.

Becky and Flynn have just recently returned from the battlefields of World War I. Becky worked as a field doctor, and Flynn saw action that has forced him to realize how much Becky means to him. Becky is found knocked unconscious in Mycroft Holmes's flat, and Mycroft is critically wounded following a phone call from Mycroft to Becky that she cannot remember when she emerges from her coma.

The story revolves around Becky trying to remember what happened, and also trying to prove that she wasn't the person who shot Mycroft. Becky and Flynn team up with Dr. Watson to solve the mysteries surrounding the attack, and prove that Becky isn't a traitor to the Crown.

I can't wait to go back and read the first three books in this series.

They do grow up, don’t they?

Becky (Sherlock Holmes’ daughter’s sister-in-law) and Flynn (the leader of the Baker Street Irregulars) from Anna Elliot’s Sherlock and Lucy series with Charles Veley have their own series set in World War I where she’s a surgeon and he’s a major taking on spies and intrigue.

This is now book four of this new series.

While Holmes himself isn’t in this one, Uncle John Watson is as are American detectives Violet and Preston who have crossed over from the parent series.

Whereas Flynn is newly recovered from a snake bite at the end of Watch and Ward, it is now Becky who is vulnerable, recovering with amnesia and under suspicion for treason (for shooting Mycroft Holmes!!) due the machinations of villains who have infiltrated British security.

Our heroes save the day and recover memories, including the obvious to everyone but them feelings they have for one another.

So we can look to book 5 forward anxiously for those developments.

Becky and Flynn, the protagonists in this book are introduced in the several books of the Sherlock and Lucy timeline. This particular book takes place several years after the first introduction and the reader finds them grown up and living in a world embroiled in World War I, Becky as a doctor and Flynn as a soldier in the army.

In addition to Becky and Flynn the reader is reminded of several old friends and introduced to at least one new one. As with most novels this is based on some loosely woven facts and some unabashed fiction, but that has the reader wonder at whether the facts concerning historical people could possibly have a grain of truth in them.

This is an interesting, exciting story of heroism and honor during a time when half the world was crazy.

I thoroughly recommend this book, particularly if you have read the Sherlock and Lucy series. That series was written by Charles Veley and Anna Elliott, a father and daughter duo, while Becky and Flynn was written by Anna Elliott.

I would find it hard to read one without the other, to extend the lives of the people whom you have grown to know. Its a good book whether you are familiar with the prior series, I managed to read it in one day. Now back to a reread!

As with the other books in the Becky and Flynn Mystery Series, Safe You Sleep is a riveting adventure set in the context of WWI. All the elements are present - spies, bombs, traitors, characters from the past, kidnapping and daring - that lend believability to this tale of risk and reward. If you follow this series, Safe We Sleep is a must read. You will enjoy it very much and yearn for more stories in the future. Kudos to Anna Elliott on another book worthy of her readers.

It was excellent. I have read various author interpretations of Sherlock and I find these authors are the most entertaining. It took me 2 days from start to finish. They are well written and entertaining.

Author Anna Elliott has a long-running series of Sherlock Holmes continuation novels that she co-wrote with Charles Veley. In that series, Holmes and Watson are joined by the young-adult daughter that Holmes didn't know he had. Lucy, the daughter in question, didn't know about her father, either. It doesn't take long at all for Lucy to join her famous father in one mystery after another.

Among the newly created continuing cast of characters are two ten-year-old helpers. Becky Kelly is the young sister of London copper, Jack Kelly. The other youngster, Flynn, is the leader of Sherlock Holmes Baker Street Irregulars. Together, Becky and Flynn seem to be in the middle of much the action.

In "Safe You Sleep: A Becky & Flynn WWI Mystery"--you guessed it--Becky and Flynn are grown, and WWI is raging in France. Flynn is now a major in the British Army, and Becky has followed in Doctor Watson's footsteps to become a doctor and army surgeon. Sherlock Holmes is away on a secret mission for the British Crown, but Watson figures somewhat prominently in a role supporting Becky and Flynn.

The story centers on Becky as she awakens in the hospital under Doctor Watson's care. She's unsure of what happened, and isn't aware that she was attacked in Mycroft Holmes London flat, or that Mycroft was shot is in a nearby hospital room. It's at this time that a British Colonel arrives to arrest Becky for treason. It seems the Colonel is convinced that she shot Mycroft.

What unfolds is wild ride through the streets of London as Becky and Flynn try to sort the problem, find the bad guys, and prove Becky's innocence. Along the way, Becky is kidnapped, they're joined by American secret agents, their wild ride moves to a train to Dover.

Elliott is excellent at keeping the action moving, and involving the reader in her story and characters. We care about the goods guys, and hate the villains, just as we should. She uses dialog to effective use in moving the plot forward, and helping to define who and what the characters are.

This is a good story well told. I loved it.

I Am Obsessed!!!
I have only read this one book from the series and I am obsessed already! It is as though the author, Anna Elliott, was possessed by the spirit of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle when she wrote this series. The historical details and vernacular are consistent with a Sherlock Holmes novel and help to further immerse the reader in a feeling of authenticity. From the moment I started reading I felt as though I was dropped via time machine into 1915 London. So much action and so many plot twists it was dizzying in the most delightful way! I absolutely adored the way Elliott dedicated a chapter to Becky’s perspective as the action unfolded and then Flynn. She continues alternating in this manner throughout the story. This was a highly effective structuring of the story as it allowed the reader to digest all of the action and plot twists without feeling overwhelmed. In fact, it just made me hungry for more. I can hardly wait until the next installment. In the meantime, I think I will add this one to my TBRR (To Be Re-Read) list. There were so many nuances to the story that I know I’ll find plot nooks and crannies to enjoy that I missed the first time. I’d like to thank #AnnaElliott for providing me with an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for my honest review.

SAFE YOU SLEEP is the first book in which Sherlock Holmes appears in name only. However, his elder brother Mycroft plays a significant role, as does Doctor Watson, and Lieutenant T. E. Lawrence. It is Christmas Eve when thoughts of sugar plums should be dancing but wartime brings the terror of German spies and zeppelin bombings to London. (Do read the historical notes at the end of the book, they are fascinating, as always.)

Things are changing between Becky and Flynn, and both fear that change. During The Great War, speaking these feelings is tantamount to walking from the trenches into no man's land while the enemy is firing a barrage.

As I've come to expect from The Becky and Flynn Mystery Series (and from The Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James Mysteries) the friends who grew up together still manage to get themselves into a bit more than a spot of bother. They are following the breadcrumbs scattered about London by the German spy Jacques LeClare each crumb begging the question — How?

Anna Elliott always writes an engaging storyline that keeps the plot moving in unexpected directions. Becky and Flynn are worthy of the Holmes tradition and will surely keep the legend of the most famous man who never lived — alive.

I love these Becky and Flynn stories. While there was one point where I came to a conclusion quicker than they did, it took a twist I hadn't seen. This is the kind of book one keeps reading because it's too hard to out down - that is until real life calls. 😄. I won't give away anything other than to say Sherlock Holmes did not make an appearance in this story, although there were times I expected him to show up. Well done Anna. Well done. While these books should be read in order, there's enough backstop to help understand what's happening. However you'll enjoy them more by reading in order.

Enter Lawrence of Arabia

As World War I grinds on, Becky and Flynn find their Christmas leave at home interrupted by another encounter with a group of German spies.

This time their paths cross with a cast of international characters, including Lt. T.E. Lawrence, an acquaintance of Sherlock Holmes. He shares his dream of uniting the Arabs against the Ottoman Turks, weakening the Triple Entente and shortening the war.

Again, threads of history blend with Sherlock Holmes characters in another absorbing mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed Safe You Sleep!! Anna Elliott’s characters are alive in my mind and imagination and so well developed. Becky and Flynn dive in to help each other as danger waits. The story s taut with tension, pulling the reader on to quickly get to the next page. Safe You Sleep is the third book in the Becky and Flynn series. There is a real historical person here also. Who? Read it to find out.

A Roaring Ride

Spies and intrigue, traps and symbols, new enemies and old friends, this story roars along almost at a pace like Indiana Jones.
Becky and Flynn chase an elusive and vengeful spy through London, only to realize that they're the ones being chased. At the height of WWI, it is hard to protect those you love and others when you are the target.
Only with help from friends and family can they succeed...

I really enjoyed this book it had all of the characteristics that you would require a good investigation by Becky/Flynn. They were made for each other and it made you want to throw them together all the way through the book however I loved all of it with one of the best endings ever.

Enough cloak and dagger for two stories. I was in a constant state of suspense anxiety, and worry for what would come next. Some very tense moments and compelling situations to keep you on the edge of your seat. Some superhero moments at the end that will have you rooting for their success!!!
