Daisy Hills Volunteer Firefighters Book 2 A Small Town Sweet and Steamy Romance
Cassidy When my great-aunt asks me to move to Daisy Hills, the timing couldn’t have been better. I leave my stalker behind bars and jump on the chance for a fresh start.
Now I’m opening my dream business—The Book Cellar. Life seems to finally be going my way.
Until the assistant fire marshal—the unfairly sexy Declan Maxwell I’ve avoided like the plague per the strict no-men-in-my-life policy I adopted the day I moved—writes me up for a violation that threatens to delay my grand opening.
If that’s not bad enough, he’s determined to help me fix the problem. The man I want nothing more than to avoid won’t go away. The longer this goes on, the less I seem to remember why I swore off men in the first place. My resolve—and my heart—are in serious trouble.

This is book two of the Daisy Hills Volunteer Firefighters series and the main characters are Cassidy James who has come to help look after her great aunt Ester and Declan Maxwell, the assistant fire marshal, who will make or break her new business The Book Cellar, if everything isn’t up to code. Cassidy met Declan at a friend’s wedding and had a bit of a drunken connection. She has been trying to avoid him ever since, as she has sworn off men since escaping her stalker after getting him finally locked up behind bars. Her great aunt’s call was the ideal motivator for her to set up her dream, allowing her the use of her basement to open up her bar combined with her love of books. One item to cross off the list before her grand opening, is to have an up to date fire certificate, but instead of the fire chief turning up, it is Declan. Unfortunately for Cassidy, the sprinkler system is condemned and she will need a completely new system before her grand opening which has already been set for the next again week. Declan is eager to help her out and hasn’t forgotten her since the wedding.
Declan is also an accountant and does books for lots of small businesses around town, including her great aunt’s quilt business, which makes it even harder to keep away from him. Cassidy has had loads of experience bartending and so has made up book related names for the drinks she is going to serve once her liquor licence comes through. All the books she has purchased and obtained are in storage at her great aunts until all the work is finished in the bar. Setting up all the bookcases has left lots of dust everywhere and she has to finish cleaning everything up. Her only issue is spiders! She has a massive phobia of them and it even stops a romantic moment or two. The more she can’t avoid him, the more she forgets why she shouldn’t be involved with another man in the first place! The two can’t seem to keep apart and her great aunt stepping out on a date, leaves them together and their feelings can’t be hidden any longer. A fast and steamy short read with some lovable characters. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have given my own opinion of the book above.
He is determined to wear her down even as she fights him all the way
Declan is the second book in the Daisy Hills Volunteer Firefighters which is part of the Daisy Hills world. The story is about Cassidy James and Declan Maxwell. She is in the process of opening her own book store, The Book Cellar, but when a fire inspection puts a halt to it, along with a terrifying wolf spider about to be her undoing, things may not go as planned. Declan is the assistant to the Fire Chief in Daisy Hills and has to do the inspection. One look at the curvy beauty and he knows she is his one and only. But Cassidy now has a strictly no men policy and her heart locked down. So Declan knows he will have to work hard and is determined to wear her down by any means necessary. Sparks flare and soon a fire ignites between these two, no matter how much she tries to fight it. I loved this book from the funny start to the heartwarming HEA ending. You just love Cassidy and Declan as they are both so much more than you initially think. Together they are delightful, sweet, funny, hot, passionate and more. I hope there are more Daisy Hills Volunteer Firefighters in the future as these men are on fire all the way!
Cassidy is grateful that her Great-Aunt Ester invites her to move to Daisy Hills and start her own business in the old basement bar. The invitation allowed her to get far away from her stalker. Her dream is also being fulfilled as she can now open her own business, The Book Cellar. But right now, she is cowering on the bar counter, shoe in hand, as she faces off with a giant wolf spider. A man’s unexpected voice scares her so badly that she screams and almost rolls off the counter as the Assistant Fire Marshal then dares to cite her for a violation when he sees the rusty sprinkler system is outdated. All her plans for her grand opening grind to a halt!
Although Declan Maxwell further offers to help her correct the problem, it only makes matters worse since she has sworn off of men and he is too much of a temptation. But he has already fallen for her and will do whatever it takes to convince her he is right for her. Will she take a chance on him? Will he show her that he sincerely cares for her and wants to make her his? (And the book cover is absolutely perfect to depict the sweet, lovable Declan!)
The second installment of Kali Hart's charming Daisy Hills Volunteer Firefighters is a quick, entertaining and steamy romance. Volunteer firefighter and bookkeeper Declan knew he met the one at his sister's wedding a couple months ago - unfortunately for him, Cassidy is afraid of commitment. Cassidy relocated to small town Daisy Hills to escape a stalker, take care of her great aunt and open her own business - and avoid men at all costs. Too bad the chemistry and connection between her and the hunky Declan is out of this world! Will Cassidy be able to resist Declan in the long-term or will he finally wear down the woman he knows is meant to be his? A short, sweet and steamy romance well worth a read.

I loved Declan: Small Town Romance Book 2 of Daisy Hills Volunteer Firefighters. Cassidy swore off men and love, unfortunately Declan is trying to change that. Declan knew the second he saw Cassidy he was going to marry her. He knows he has to be patient to win her heart but win it he will. This was a sweet love story and I just loved the characters. I loved that all their friends were helpful and encouraging. It was a quick read but I didn’t feel like I was missing any parts of the story. I would definitely recommend this book.

Firefighter Declan and Cassidy met at a wedding and the two felt the pull immediately. Now she is staying with her grandmother and opening a basement book bar. Declan is here to check on fire regulations before the grand opening. She tries hard to resist him after all the pain she has been through previously. Loved the caring characters and heartwarming feelings that keep them moving forward. The storyline has romance in the air for several couples, drama, fire call danger, a busted washing machine, fun, steam and good-hearted friends and family. Terrific and happy ending.

Declan is a hot accountant who also happens to be a volunteer firefighter and he’s known that Cassidy is going to be his wife since first sight. Cassidy is new to Daisy Hills, restarting life after a scary stalker incident. She’s intent on keeping men at bay, especially Declan, who seems to be everywhere. With off the charts chemistry, a smitten man and a woman in denial you know a HEA is on the cards. Fast, steamy and a great addition to the Daisy Hills collection.

Kali Hart has given us an insta-love story. We are taken into the story of Cassidy and Declan. Declan and Cassidy have an equal attraction and chemistry and immediately feel that they are the one for each other. Cassidy is a little off the boat at times because she's a little afraid of stability. She hasn't paid attention to Declan's patience to see that they are meant for each other and can't live without each other. A great story and a page turner

I loved this because its Kali Hart and she has yet to do me super wrong. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star for me is that there were a few loose ends that didn't tie up. Cassidy is running from a stalker but she never tells this to Declan or explains the situation to him and I felt like it was a missed opportunity that it could've pushed their connection further. Always great writing though!.
