I am a USA-TODAY best-selling author with 41 years, 76 books, and numerous writing awards behind me. My major genre is historical romance. I have always written for standard publishers but am now writing strictly for Amazon so I have more freedom to write real history. My most recent publication is SHADOW TRAIL, the 6th book in my Outlaw Hearts series. I also wrote and published my first full-length contemporary story, DANCING BENEATH YOU, in September 2022, a romance involving mystery and a depiction of reservation life in the Badlands of South Dakota. My best sellers are my SAVAGE DESTINY series (7 books) and my OUTLAW HEARTS series. See my website (www.rosannebittner.com) for details on all my books - most available for Kindle and in print. I am known for great love stories filled with real history and high emotion. I have also written many Native American stories, all based on real history.
I love American history. For those of you who have not yet read my books, my stories are generally set in the American West of the 1800s and feature vividly described, historically accurate settings that span the US from Missouri to California, from Canada to Mexico. Many of my books portray the poignant history of our Native Americans, and though the characters are my own, I use real historical locations and events in all my novels. I have also written about the French & Indian wars, American Revolution, the War of 1812, the war with Mexico (the Alamo), and the Civil War.
National magazine ROMANTIC TIMES has called me the "Queen of Western Romance" and an "emotional powerhouse." My husband and I have traveled the west for nearly 40 years and I have visited just about every location mentioned in my books.

Rosanne Bittner provides an example of courage amidst fear, hope in spite of hardship, and grace while hurting.
The journey west for Clarissa was the only hope she had for her daughter and her to give an unblemished beginning after her husband left her. After meeting the trail leader, she holds her heart tightly lest she trust anyone again.
It's a quick, predictable read with unexpected bumps along the way.
This is my favorite of Rosanne Bittner's 3 inspirational stories. I tend to also love wagon train stories, and this didn't fail there to show the challenges along with the strength of people making the journey. Clair and Dawson and Sophie settled deep in my heart. Plus the themes of faith, forgiveness, and salvation are shared in a beautiful, honest way.
I loved the words of God throughout the reading! The storyline was telling of how we are faced with so many difficulties in life!!! But, through God and faith in him, we are more than conquerors!! A beautiful story and and a testament to the hardships that people faced in journeying through the new country of America!!! Thanks Rosanne Bittner for your writings!!!
One of my favorite Western fiction settings is the wagon train headed west so I was thrilled one of my favorite western authors, Rosanne Bittner wrote a wagon train romance story. I was startled, as I wasn’t aware she wrote any in this genre, that Walk By Faith is Inspirational Fiction, too.
My full review will post at The Reading Frenzy TBA.
For the reviews that said if they knew it was a Christian book they would have saved their money. A nice read, sad, but worth the money. Could have been longer. Ended abruptly.
This book is different than the other books from Rosanne Bittner. I highly recommend its different but a wonderful book with great characters. Rosanne Bittner is a talented author and anything she writes is worth taking the time to read.
I would rate a negative if I could. There are many reasons.
Let's start with the most important.
God. She chooses which verses to quote, but ignores others verses. Like ignoring Psalms 11:5. God hates violence and lovers of violence. Her book was filled with violence. (Psalm 11:5) . . . "God examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one; He hates anyone who loves violence."
Then she has her main character and two others (One is supposed to be a minister) lie, and live a lie. Now does anyone reading this not know how God feels about liars, and lies?
John 8:44 is clear that Satan is the father of the lie and liars are like that father. Revelation tells us that God feels about liars as strong as he does about murderers. (Revelation 21:8) . . ".But as for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and the sexually immoral and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This means the second death.” (Revelation 22:15) . . ."Outside are the dogs and those who practice spiritism and those who are sexually immoral and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices lying.’"
To me she, the author was more concerned about making it please the violent loving and lying society that surrounds us, than trying to really praise God.
Next. The author made her characters with attitude of the 21st century, not the 1860's. How disappointing, when I read a book I want to escape the attitudes of today. 2 Timothy 3:1-5. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) . . "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. "
Then…. the wagon train, a person could read three first grade books about wagon trains and know that this author had no clue.
I could not get through one third of this book, before I said, "I cannot read any more." Her besmirching God was the main reason for that. Her writing that it is OK to lie and continued that lie made me put the book down. As well as other things I mentioned.
(John 8:44) . . "You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie."
When I was in my 20s, I devoured Rosanne Bittner's "bodice rippers", but now that I am older I was excited to see that she was writing some inspirational fiction. After reading of couple of these new books, I was disappointed by the feeling that Ms. Bittner simply jumped on the Christian fiction wagon for new readers and there was nothing spiritual behind her thinking. She continues to write mystic books and hot romances which just seems like she is trying to please every audience. I don't know her heart, but this is the impression I got.
Dawson Clements sure is romantic! A perfect picture of a man who truly loves a woman - Clarissa Graham! A God-blessed relationship one hopeless romantic wife like me dreamt of having.
Rosanne Bittner truly possesses great talent to put the right words together in order to move a soul! I can't help but long to read more from her...
Faith is something we all need, faith in our ability to make a difference in earth. The only way I know to do that is to LOVE. Love every one around you and just be the best person you can be. That is lesson I have received from many of Rosanne Bittner's books, including Walk By Faith.
This was my first Rosanne Bittner book. It got me hooked on her books and I have since read quite a few others. I love the historical facts and the development of an unlikely romance. I love the way a woman of faith had such an influence for good on a man struggling to find himself.
I loved this book. It was one of those that I couldn't put down. It had everything I look for in a book. History, adventure, romance and faith. It's a must read for those of us that love a historical romance.
The story was pretty good but the writing was kind of underdeveloped. I had a hard time reading the same thoughts of the main characters over and over again.
What an AMAZING book! I recommend this one to anyone at all and especially those who may need a boost to your faith. I read it almost straight through.
