Cornelius G. Hunter (PhD, University of Illinois) is formerly senior vice president of Seagull Technology, Inc., and is currently engaged in molecular biophysics post-doctoral and engineering research in Cameron Park, California. He is adjunct professor of science and religion at Biola University.

The author's previous book "Darwin's God" was a very good book but this one is even better. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. He is a Christian who believes that God created everything out of nothing and he clearly shares his understanding of the God of the Bible. He shows the problem of evil and sin and shows how the death of Jesus provides the way for man to have a relation with his Creator. I have read many books on the topic of creation and evolution. I have read quite a number of books written to simply demonstrate intelligent design and leave the identity of the creator up for speculation. But this author shows the differences among many of the intelligent design presentations and shows how the concept of an eternal God creating everything out of nothing at a certain time in history to be the most reasonable and the only one that really is in agreement with God's revelation, the Bible.

Greetings fellow readers,
I have come today to warn you away from the book. It is not bias that I am warning you away from though this book does contain a fair amount but lack of understanding. I am no expert on evolution but I am nearly done with my biological teaching degree and I can ascert with full confidence that Mr. Hunter does not have the full grasp about what the evolutionary theory is. That said there are some serious errors in how he presents the material that show that it is not just evolutionary ignorance but biological ignorance that leads him to his views. For example he directly states that blood alone has no way of holding onto oxygen. An obviously false statement when considering that plasma the fluid that holds blood cells has the capacity to hold dissolved oxygen. There are even species that use only this plasma to facilitate their oxygen needs. The book is littered with incorrect “facts” sewn in to provide doubt of evolution. Lastly this book makes the cardinal sin of evolution books pointing out that Evolution is only a theory. Though this is correct the scientific term theory means a much different thing that the common speech variety. Theory in scientific terms means that it has been well tested and shown to be the likely modus operandi many many times. This is the case with evolution that every test that it suffers shows that it is how nature work to produce the wonderful bounty of life that we have today.

Nonfiction? It purports to be. However, it's a good example of a typical Creationist strategy. Not all creationists engage in this kind of deceptive strategy, but many do. While presenting no evidence to support their own views they engage in twisted logic to try and find a weak spot in evolutionary theory.
