My dream job carries one play nice with the awkwardly hot shifter agent who keeps threatening to lock me in his bedroom.

I have a gun without bullets. No field training. And a mentor who always wants to pounce on me. Or throw me over his shoulder and haul me to safety at the first hint of danger.

And since I’ve made it my mission to find the killer targeting homeless shifters in my city, I’ve become a target.

Uri Alexander, my reluctant partner, has a problem with his fated mate being in harm’s way. But I’m not worried. Uri’s got my back. As long as he can focus on the job and not on what we do together off the clock.

This is a “full-grown-up” paranormal romance. No doors are closed in this book. Nothing is held back.

BUT if want to read a tamer version of this novel, a closed-door version (also called a clean or fade-to-black or kisses only romance) is available as Uri by Dana Archer, the discreet pen name of Nancy Corrigan.

A wonderful story full of angst and emotion.
One that will have you tearing your hair out and on the edge of your seat , begging for these two to Finally get it together.

Uri has been such a mixed up , confusing character, one you really have no idea what his problem is .
He has real trust issues and is a devoted twin , he also is convinced that he’s not deserving of a happy ever after, that the goddess frowns on him for his past sins and mistakes.

Lyla has led a very hard life , the daughter of an addict , her sister kidnapped and raped , she’s now working with Uri in Shifter Affaires, they are drawn together but no matter how hard she pushes him to see and feel the connection they share , he walks away.

Times are hard on the streets and a killer is on the loose , he’s not fussy , humans , shifters , he’ll use and kill them all .
But now he just want Lyla , how far will Uri go to keep her safe .

On the edge of you seat kind of reading , so be prepared for some gritty scenes and some steam too , but that’s what makes this so good .
Loved every page .

Baiting the Royal is the third book in the Shifter Affairs series, and follows the story of Uri and Layla. Uri is supposed to be Layla's mentor, but his feelings keep getting in the way, and his denial of said feelings! Everyone else can see what's going on, but he refuses to. Layla is no shrinking violet though, and is prepared to fight Uri to make him see just what they could have together, if only he would just stop being so stubborn!

Just like Shrek's onion, this story has layers. You have a romance between Uri and Layla. You have the story with Bryon and his pack. You have Izzy. You have Sam. You have Sam and Colin. Plus you have the big bad. Too much you might think? Not really, no. There is enough here to keep your interest, to keep the story moving along, and to give you food for thought.

This story is complete, in and of itself, while still leaving you wanting more from this world. So many stories, and I just hope Ms Corrigan writes them all! At least Sam and Colin, though, please!!!

With no editing or grammatical errors that spoilt my reading, this book was completely engrossing from start to finish and is absolutely recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Baiting the Royal is the third book in the Shifter Affairs series, but can be read as a stand alone and fits within Ms. Corrigan’s Shifter World. Lyla is a human living within the shifter world, and she realizes real fast that her mentor, Uri, is someone special. She peruses him, pushes him, and craves to see the wildness beneath his clean and calm demeanor. But when Lyla and those she loves is targeted by danger, will Lyla survive the Royal she’s falling for and the danger she’s up against?

The storyline to this book was completely thrilling and captivating, and I loved that Uri and Lyla had to work together, using all of the contacts that they had, all of the skills they’ve learned over the years, and using each other to cover their backs, hearts, and souls! This book has many twists and turns, you don’t know quite who you can trust, and Uri and Lyla need to figure out their attraction and what they mean to each other. Lyla is so brave and bold, loyal and caring and I really loved her character! Uri... I have been waiting for his book since the first of the series and I was disappointed that I didn’t love him as much as I wanted to. He played a lot of head games with Lyla, but hated it when she played any sort of game with him. He felt the need for a black and white world, but had so much wildness and guilt inside and I almost felt like I got whiplash from his character. But, I loved the passion that they brought out in each other, I loved the trust that eventually grew between them, and really enjoyed how the ending all played out. There’s a lot still open in this series, a lot that can come from future books, but I thought this was a solid addition and definitely enjoyed this suspenseful paranormal romance!

This story read a little like an episode of Criminal Minds or possibly even Law & Order: SVU with a decidedly paranormal twist. Nothing in this book was quite what it appeared to be, leading me through so many twists, turns, and double-crosses. This book was truly an emotional roller-coaster ride. I experienced laughter and tears and everything in between. I was very surprised by who Uri turned out to be. We’ve previously seen him as a bit of a rigid, rule-follower, so it was refreshing to see him break free from that mould. Lyla takes over this story like a whirlwind. I loved her great big heart and fierce independent streak. I just wasn’t as big a fan of how those traits kept leading her to do things that I thought fell into the “too stupid to live” category. I really appreciated that she did learn from those situations and didn’t keep throwing herself into danger all the time. Now, I no longer have any guesses about what the author is setting us up for next. All I know for certain is that I want to read it whatever it is.

Lyla was a doctor dedicated to treating the poor and homeless in the same area of the city where she grew up. He life takes a sudden change when she finds out about the existence of shifters, now she is working as a Shifter Affairs agent/coroner, not that she was given much of a choice. Shifters and humans are dying from an illegal, designer drug and Lyla is determined to find the source and put an end to the drugs distribution. Uri is a Royal shifter of the Alexander pride and will protect Lyla, whether she likes it or not, from a powerful shifter that wants to rule humans and shifters, and will use any means necessary to achieve his objective. When Uri realizes that the shifter responsible for so many shifter and human deaths wants Lyla, he will do everything in his power to keep her safe, including making her his beloved human.

Sexy, well written, and unique characters who will do everything possible to save each other and innocents from an evil shifter. Action packed, suspenseful romance in a fascinating and intriguing world. Fantastic book.

Lyla a human who is now the new agent and coroner for Shifter Affairs and she is always some place she shouldn't be but she grew up on these streets and she thinks because of that everybody is going to treat her with respect. Uriel is a Royal to the feline clan Alexander and his partner Rick is a feline shifter also, always seem to be there when she needs them but this time Uri kissed her and she seem to be quite taken with his attentions. But he is not interested he says. There is a serial killer among them. They seem to know his scent and who he is but he seems to be pretty smart he keeps them on their toes to the end. Great story line and the characters were all very interesting. I was given an ARC without obligation from the author. i am providing an honest review.

Lyla is the new coroner at Shifter Affairs. She has an uncanny ability for getting herself in sticky situations. But she’s tough. She’s overcome so much in her life.
Uriel seems like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Well, at least a huge helping of guilt as far as Ezra, his twin, is concerned. He seems to believe that he doesn’t deserve to be happy.
The sexual tension between Uri & Lyla is heady and overwhelming. The push and pull between them was delicious! Add in Uriel’s worry and guilt over Ezra and a killer who has Lyla in his sights and you get an outstanding read dripping in tension, sexual and otherwise, and edge of your seat suspense!

Urgh! I loved this book but really wanted to smack Uri up the side of his head the stubborn oaf! Nancy Corrigan is one of my favourite authors for shifter books. She has the ability to make the fantasy appear real and pulls you into the tale as it unfolds and this book is one that I had trouble putting down. I love the 'Royals' that Nancy has developed and how she spins the difference between them and 'single' shifters. We are getting further into Shifter Affairs as the series continues and if the other series by this author involving the various packs and prides in the area are anything to go by, this will be a great series to follow.
Well written book with plenty of hot shifters and a strong enough story to keep the reader engaged.

I Adore these Royal Shifter Stories!!
Our main characters are Shifter Affairs agents. Lyla is human, and would not know shifters existed, except her sister Sam was kidnapped and kept by a shifter. Now a “newcomer” is in their town and experimenting and ultimately killing the homeless. Uri, a royal shifter (3 animals), is fighting his attraction to Lyla, and Lyla is having none of it!

Danger, intrigue, romance, relationships and shifter protocols all play a part in this fabulous story which will keep you on the edge of your seat and highly entertained!!

Wow. This story had so many levels of brokenness and hurt going on, it was too real. Even if you took the shifter elements out of the story, it would still be an addictive book to read. Lyla has had a shitty life, but she still walks in kindness, and even though she got dealt an awful childhood, Sam and Izzy had it even worse. The situations were so realistic and common with kids of addicts that you can't help but be drawn into the story. Uri takes longer to get attached to, but he has his hangups too. I loved the way Lyla chased him and how their romance had to grow before it was realized. It was a difficult book to put down and I spent a nice rainy day lost in that world!

Uri is not only a shifter, but a royal shifter, meaning he hosts three animals, lion, tiger, and jaguar. Lyla is a coroner and agent for Shifter Affairs. There is a serial killer targeting shifters and a new deadly addictive drug on the streets. They are investigating the crimes. Uri is attracted to Lyla but determined to avoid her. Interesting concept with this Shifter World. I enjoyed the story and the give and take between Uri and Lyla and the romance was hot. I had not read the previous books but did not have a problem following this one. It was definitely complete in itself. Very enjoyable read.

Lyla is a corner for Shifter Affairs. She is also a target of the shifter that her sister saved her from. Lyla has had a rough life but, she has compassion for helping those less fortunate. Her compassion may just get her killed.

Uri is a Shifter Affairs agent who is a stickler for the rules. He is attracted to Lyla but he doesn't deserve her. His family needs him, his partner needs him and he needs her. He will fight for her and his family with his last breath.

This story was full of action, hot sex, and a surprise or two. I hope that a few things fall into place in the next book in this series. A war is coming and the goddesses are lining up their warriors.

Lyla is a human working for Shifter Affairs as the coroner. Uri is her mentor and also her true mate. He is attracted to her and knows she is his true mate, but he doesn’t think he deserves to be happy because of his past. As they search for the killer, their feelings for each other become stronger.

This is a great book for mystery, some humor, drama, action and of course, sexiness. I didn’t read the first two in the series, but I think it might have been nice to get to know the other characters better.

I voluntarily reviewed a Hidden Gems ARC of this book.

Lyla was a fantastic character. As a coroner for the shifters affairs she was also an agent looking into some deaths of shifters due to a drug. Uri is an agent who is also a royal shifter. Loved the chemistry and lots of steam. Tons of action and twist in the story. Secondary characters were also well developed. This book kept my turning the pages as the two get involved in solving this problem. Loved it!

To get a thrilling paranormal read this author can be counted on to give that with this one being that does indeed do that. Lyla and Uri head up this one with us quickly getting into their story. The drama begins to seep in with suspense building as we follow these two. The chemistry these two have wraps around us also but danger is around the corner so you are kept on your toes. This author knew how to give us what we wanted in this one.

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 3 in a series that each follows a different couple. Could technically be read as a standalone but better to read all books for the background and better understanding of the characters. I enjoyed this book. There is drama, angst, men with confused feelings that they don't want to admit to, and true love. Plus add in the supernatural aspect and you have yourself a series that draws you in!

Lyla and Uri are both troubled

Uri is a royal cat shifter. Lyla is a human who knows of shifters and because her being a doctor she is brought into Shifter affairs as an agent. Uri is her mentor and her true mate. Uri feels unworthy of having a mate and Lyla is attracted to Uri and wants to explore the attraction. Can they find happiness? I highly recommend this book and series.

Very enjoyable and entertaining read. Plenty of intrigue, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. But there also angst and mary of other emotions. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Love This Series

Baiting the Royal is Nancy Corrigan's newest addition to her Royal Shifters series. The series continues to grow and add more characters with each new book. The storyline thickens and you are drawn into the lives of the characters. If you love a good paranormal then this is a great series to read.

I am enthralled by the Royal-Kagan/Shifter Affairs series'. Each book can be read as a standalone, but there is an underlying story that weaves them all together, which keeps me coming back for more. Baiting the Royal is steamy, suspenseful, action-packed and weaves a story that keeps you riveted until the end. Can't wait for the next in the series!

Uri and Lyla's story is a perfect addition to this series. Nancy has developed a whole world for her characters to play in and I really enjoy reading about them. This "sub-series" is no different and offers great character growth and interesting story lines. I highly recommend it.

Uri and Layla

This book is a continuation in the story of finding Nina Alexander, the missing sister of pride leader Kade Alexander. At the centre of the action and drama is Uri and Layla, fated mates. An action packed story, where the villian is stalking its prey.

It was an okay read. It just took a bit to get the book started. Uri just seem so flip-floppy with what he wants to do with Lyla, despite knowing she's his. There's a big emphasis on the mystery part as they both search for the killer. Not my favorite, but an okay read.
