My husband bought me this book years and years ago and I read it and use it all the time. It is a great, great book and covers a wide variety of stitch patterns including a big section on tunisian crochet.

The first half shows you different stitch patterns in both diagram and description. The second half is more specialized - filet crochet, afghan stitch. I actually bought a back-up of this book because I had torn my other ones into different sheets (in sheet protectors) because it's easier to use this way.
