I finished this book a few weeks ago. Its title promises everything that's in the book. If you haven't ever tried to elevate yourself to something more than just existing, then this book will help you get a great start. If you're tired all the time or are simply burned out on what you're doing, this book will help you both short term and long term (little suggestions like making ALL your spaces -home, car, office- neat and desirable). Even if you think you've got it all together, this book will help you confirm what you're doing right and maybe help you stay on that same track. Don't know what it could do for you, but it changed my life.
The title say it all. Dr. Reed used the acronym C.R.E.A.T.I.O.N. to describe the essentials to "revolutionize" you life.
This definitely falls under the category of self-help. Dr. Reed show you simple steps that you can do to live a healthier lifestyle, mental stability, and enhances spiritual connections.
I've worked with plenty of doctors and this book is reflective in that nature because at times Dr. Reed can be very pushy. She writes "read this if you're in a hurry" or "do this if time is limited". There is plenty of direct instruction given in the book in true physician style, but I can definitely appreciate a direct approach to improving my lifestyle.
I particularly took more time reading about the her concept of the Lifestyle Learning Continuum, which explains how we learn from knowing little to nothing about a healthy lifestyle to consistently practicing it.
The interpersonal relationships chapter also had a concept I found interesting. A relationship pyramid mirroring Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. The pyramid shows the fundamental levels of interpersonal relationships.
Lastly, for those who want to get right to it the beginning of the chapters describe in great detail what the chapter is about and the ending appendices include action plans and checklists to start your way to refocusing your life.
Great resource that I plan to reference for years to come.
