Once fate is in motion, nothing can stop the destiny that awaits.
Cagan There is something about this one that stirs me deeply. The aroma of her tickles my senses as I inhale her scent. I am inflamed as I seek to know more about her. Who is this creature and why do I care?
Wren Am I in hell? What is this huge green monster? He’s partially dressed, wearing animal skin over his buff chest. Oh my, the muscles. Thick bracelet things encircle his wrists and a dagger is in his hand. The sword on his hip stays sheathed. Giant muscled legs and large hands move before me. He steadies me after I fell from the ship. Then I react. I scream and shake my head, running away. Muscles or not, I won't let the monster catch m
Its 94 pages and I cant finish it. I'm DNF at 43%. It's so badly written. The cover looked so promising but it's a complete disappointment. It's robotic and juvenile. It flip flops and changes from one paragraph to the next. I'd give it a zero of I could.
Eh not my favorite... Had a decent story and the fated mate trope but felt it was lacking something. Also had quite a few typos that i couldn't get past. The characters were cute but definitely not realistic and the FMC just seemed very oblivious she just went along with everything the MMC did which seemed very strange. It was okay but not great but im willing to read the rest on KU but maybe not buy the physical books unless i think they're worth it.
Reads like someone telling a story who forgets where they are halfway through a sentence. Suddenly changing scenes so you feel almost completely lost or like you missed a page or paragraph. Hard to follow and could really use some good editing.
I think the only reason this was finished was because it was such a short story.
This read to me like my 7 year old trying to tell me a story. You know goes over the main thing and then keeps coming back to maybe add a detail and then goes back again to something else so you have absolutely no idea what is exactly going on. “There was this, and then that, but then I did this when I was doing that and then…”
There was definitely a reason why the heroine should have been food for some other being… just saying. Wouldn’t have been surprised if that had been the ending either.
Well dang the other cover of this tricked me. The story read like a bad wattpad fic, if you know what I mean.
Rushed story, 0-100 fated mate fucking, shallow dialogue, no character development, and a lot of giggling from the FL. I guess on a plus side- I thankfully I tried this out on KU so I didn't have to pay for it. But would not recommend even for the smut.
DNF at 40%. I tried. But she is TSTL and has no personality except bored and entitled, and his whole personality is he is an orc. I thought maybe it was the author's first book but it's not, looks like they churn these out fast as they can which explains the writing. Even the sex scenes "wildest night of my life" claiming was just relatively bland missionary sex that lasted half a page 🤷. Not for me.
The Orc is decent; the human female is an embarrassment
Are you looking for an Orc story with what may be the most jaw-droppingly unintelligent FMC out of all the Orc stories on KU? Then this might be the book for you.
She's abducted from a colony on a new planet after she disobeys orders to not leave the safety of the human encampment (she was bored). Taken to a different planet by drone, she's saved from being hunted by the species that sent the drone by the Orc. Being rather smitten and heroic, he takes her to a place of safety. He needs to leave for a short time to provide for her, so tells her to remain in safety until he returns...but nope--she's bored and wants to explore. You'll NEVER guess what happens. Not once, but twice. Too stupid to live might be a thing.
As for me, I felt quite sorry for the MMC for being stuck with this girl. Yikes.
I'd like to apologize to all male Orcs out there considering a human female mate, because humanity can surely do better than this chick. Absolutely no reason for me to continue this series, because I cannot imagine the NEXT human female to be abducted is going to be an improvement.
So, let me start by saying, I tried to give it a chance. I read some reviews and saw both good and bad. I normally don't let those reviews determine if I read a book or not... I have read books that has had tons of bad reviews and seemed to enjoy them.... Perhaps I should have heeded those negative reviews with this one.
I gave it 2 stars because I liked the concept but the execution lacked immensely. First she's on a planet with Vampires. Cool, okay that's fine. Gets "bored" and attempts to explore beyond the colony walls! That's where she's gets snatched by a robot spaceship thing and travels to a new planet full of orcs and random wolf like animals. Which apparently like to take lesser creatures to prey on. But the orcs are the big bad on this planet I'm assuming because they (the Oscith) don't mess with the orcs. weird in my opinion.
Its not the fact its insta-love.. Or insa-mate for this matter. I'm a little afflicted by the fact she's rather air-headed. The book cover I had on my Kindle looked as if she would have been strong willed and fearless as she got thrown into the unknown.
Another thing that irked me was that at one point she was "bored" yet again and went exploring then ended up getting into danger... Lets skip a few chapters and here we go again with this "bored" feeling. Can she say instead she felt isolated and needed to go for a walk or felt as though she was imprisoned so she felt the need to ponder the grounds she was nested in. Something a little more complex or substantial.
Another example of neglect by the author is that there was hardly any character development. Not much of any explanation of who they were. How she came to the colony of vampires. Because in the book she said the people of Earth don't believe in Mythical beings. And yet here she is with Vamps, orcs, and faes now? I just don't understand how she can say this to Cagan and then come from a colony of said mythical creatures. How did she get there? plus how did she not know right away it was an Orc before here when she ran into him? Because I mean giant green monster with tusks! That screams Orc. At least to me it does.
In the synopsis it says "I won't let the monster catch me". Who? The Orc or literally every other beast that's living on the planet? When in truth he snatched her up in no time then fell into him instantly.
Plus she crazily adores his mother, who is a Queen. but she's a horrible person. How can she admire someone who basically called you a lesser being.... Blows my mind.
The main character in my opinion has poor judgement. I'm saying the outcome of everything wasn't to my liking. Good concept And idea behind the story but atrocious outcome.

Wren (h) left Earth to serve as blood donor on planet Daerr and feeling a little bored ventures outside the human colony only to be carted off by a drone to be dropped on Crucis. Orc lord Cagan (H) watches the drone drop and knows that it’s prey for a predatory Crucis species, but her scent catches his interest. Cagan comes to the rescue and takes her to his cave where Wren soon overcomes her fear of the protective orc intent on convincing her that they’re fated mates. Lots if action and adventure as Wren keeps finding herself in dangerous situations with her orc mate stepping in to help her as she adapts to her new life. Lovely fated mate romance with protective orc and an independent woman who love flowers, with plenty of heat, family drama, and adventure.
"We resonate. Our hearts literally sing within our chests."
Wren just wants to see beyond her boundaries and ease her boredom... she gets more adventure than she bargained for.
Cagan may not love his life in the wilds, but he has infinitely more control of his life than he did living among his people. When Wren drops into his life things improve, and suddenly he realizes just how much he prefers the life he's building, the choices he's making.
This done in one kindle unlimited quick read is a page turner about the choices we can make, and the choices others make for us... and knowing which choices truly are ours. Wren, with her compassionate heart, steals the show in how she deals with a number of second tier characters.
The overall story is good, like 4 star good. But I swear I have never disliked a female lead as much as Wren. I've read several books from Eden and I'm kind of surprised. Wren came across as a giggling idiot and honestly made me wonder if the author hated women. Literally in the middle of arguing for freedom to not be forced to marry someone else she's giggling away. It made NO sense. The only reason I read this is because I came across the second in the trilogy and it sounded good and even though they're technically stand alone, they're interconnected and I HAD to start with #1. I wish I could've just started with #2, that one has better ratings at least
I really tried to get into this book but DNF at about 70%. I had put it down for a week or so and picked it back up again today to try to finish. It reads like one of the pay per chapter books all over the internet now. Things happen and are resolved within the same chapter then you have new drama in the next. Very little world building and there is no connection to either character (for me anyways). I just couldn’t make myself finish it. Won’t be reading the other books in the series.
I have a feeling that "Eden Ember" is actually an 11 year old boy, probably na!ed Robert. This was absolutely horrible. Only a little boy with a "good ole boy" dad and a mom with some severe internalized misogyny would write that a woman would leave a safe place to get flowers. That's the stupidest thing I ever read, especially when the fmc calls herself stupid. If the author is a woman, she sincerely needs to get rid of the hatred ahe has against herself and other women. This was disgusting and poorly written.
This book gets one star for being complete and not having anything particularly objectionable in it. It gets a second star because I didn’t find any horrible grammar or spelling mistakes. I know how difficult it is to write a novel, so I’m very hesitant to give a bad review. However, this book is not good.
The dialogue is painful. The world building is nonexistent. The plot is very basic with no originality and several aspects blatantly ripped from other novel series.
“Give me your hand. We shake on it. Earthling way of saying we both agree.” I place my hand in hers and the magnetic electrical impulse sends my heart into flutters.
This was an interesting, short read. I liked Arik. Emmy irritated me occasionally, but she wasn't bad. They did have great chemistry together.
'I didn’t think my heart would ever resonate with another and yet, here you are.'
This one has a new Kindle cover, so it got me AGAIN. So now I'm ready to leave the review I originally thought when it came out initially. It needs more. More world building, more thought bubbling, more dynamics, more leading action, the only thing it doesn't lack is dialogue.
I would say this is a firm 'pass' for me, it's still painfully stilted, and needs story additives. Right now it's just plot points and speech.
I have been enjoying this authors new books. Have been a fan for a few years and always love seeing new books by her. As I'm on an Orc binge read, this was just up my alley. If you follow this author, you will enjoy her Orcs and I look forward to more from her. Thank you for having me on your ARC team.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wren lives on Daerr one day she goes beyond the protective walls because she was bored but suddenly she has been taken captive by a drone and is flown all the way to Crucis where she is dropped and runs into a giant orc Cagan and from there her life changes and it’s a start to a new adventure. Fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book.
This wasn’t a bad book, some said there was typos and skipped scenes. But I enjoyed the book, Wren only thing didn’t care too much for is the giggling, guess some do it in dire circumstances. But wasn’t enough to distract me. Great world building and characters. MIL is a snob, FIL is for show. The bad creatures made story more interesting. Got book 2 ready to read.
The characters conversations jump all over the place and the timeline is weird. I think the author was trying to speed up the story, but it just made for difficult reading. I almost DNF’d, but the storyline intrigued me so I stuck it out.
I’m going to try a different book by the author to see if theirs any improvement.
This is AI. It lost the plot every few sentences. maybe editing by a human would help. At one point the female main character was talking about her throbbing member. Maybe if you pretend this is a story about SIMS in a monster romance add on it would make sense. The girls personality was to wander in circles. I DNF. I wanted to read because the cover was so pretty.
Such a cute story. Adventure, romance and danger, everything you could want in a book. Oh not to mention Hot Orcs. It’s really an entertaining book. I look forward to the next. Thank you Eden for sharing your talents.
I hate stories where the female characters are dumb. I stopped reading at 22%. Wren is stupid. I won't be reading this author again. I don't like stories with weak or stupid female characters.
Fated mates or not, they meet and with just a bit of, very awkward, dialogue they bang. The plot could be alright if the whole story was longer and better written. It seems more like a synopsis of a book than the real deal. Everything is awkward and it isn't fun to read.
This was just ok. I love anything orcs or fated mates, but I feel like it misses emotion. Someone else said how annoying wrens giggling is and I could not agree more. It was a quick read so I don't feel like a wasted my time with it but I feel like it could have been write with more passion
