Starting over and moving on....finding the person that you can do it with
Taking Her by Stormi Wilde is part of the multi-author Cinnamon Roll Saviors series. The story is about Ocean Gallagher, a rich man who is part of the founding family of the town. He never wanted to live the way his family did so instead he became an EMT and lived his life as a working person. That all changed though one night when his team was the first at the scene of a car accident which was his parents. His father was dead and his mother died at the hospital. That was three years ago and he is still lost and not sure how to live his life again. That all changes when he sees a woman in line at his favorite cafe in town. Amaya Sinclair moved to Indigo Falls a couple of years ago to start her life again. Actually she was getting away from her life in Dallas, as she had been living in the fast lane which involved some cam girl work. She is not embarrassed by her past but she does not want that life again. Now she is partners with her best friend and they own a gift shop together. When Ocean starts pursuing Amaya she is not sure what to do but she knows she has been a good girl for the last three years and maybe it is time to have a little fun again. This book is the second one I have read by the author. I thought this story held a lot of promise and the characters were complex. But for me I wanted more depth overall. There are things that were just glanced over but at the same time were greatly impacting the characters. There were also characters that I thought could be better flushed out. I the end I thought this was an okay story.
Ocean is an EMT who was raised in a wealthy family, but he never cared about that, he wanted to forge his own path which he has. Ocean lost his parents several years ago, and he was actually the first responder for that accident, but since that time, he hasn't been able to move on from that tragedy which had me wanting to hug him in the worst way. Amaya just wants a quieter life these days, so she moves to Ocean's neck of the woods for a fresh start which is how they come face to face. They have the sparks flying, and they're definitely drawn to each other like crazy but both have serious baggage so it's not that simple of course. They're finally starting to heal & growing closer but unfortunately, the past never stays put & Amaya's is trying to cause some chaos so will they get through it together or will it break them for good?! You know what to do to find out, and trust me, you want to find out as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Taking her is a short and steamy, instalove, curvy girl gets her billionaire romance. Ocean is a handsome EMT who was raised with money but has always wanted to make his own path. His parents were killed three years ago in an accident, and he was one of the first responders. He is still heavily grieving the loss 3 years later. Amaya is a young and sassy, curvy black female who has moved to Indigo Falls to start over. She used to be a party and cam girl and wants a quieter life now. When the two meet, they are instantly drawn to each other. Both are trying to heal. Can they heal each other? They had great chemistry, and we do get a great HEA. Please tell me we are getting Tristan and Kima's story soon?!! Loved it!
The bit that we get to know Ocean and Amaya indicates they are nice people, but this whole story just seemed to bubble along the surface without dipping any deeper. Events are kind of skimmed over and actions are half explained before it leaps to something else...another event, a different person, different day. It just felt a little shallow and like we needed a little more detail and depth to really be invested in Amaya and Ocean's relationship. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
With grief eating Ocean alive, he needs to come and participate in living. A chance meeting between Ocean and Amaya sparks a memory for Ocean. As Ocean and Amaya start to enjoy each other Amaya's past threatens to put an end to this new relationship. How is Amaya going to handle this and can Ocean handle her past too and survive?.
A nice quick read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ocean lost his parents three years ago and still the grief is huge. But things change when he meets the store owner Amaya. What he doesn't know is that she was a cam girl that now lives quiet life. But he doesn't care and falls head over heels for her. Instalove, sweet, short, with a bit steam, romantic and with a sweet HEA😍
Ocean and Amaya's story is a short one filled with past misfortunes, secrets, drama, and likable characters. This is a fast paced romance between an EMT and the co-owner of a gift shop. I enjoyed the story but it seemed to rush at the end and the epilogue was about a different couple. Taking Her is part of the multi-author Cinnamon Roll Saviors series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This does not seem like a complete story. So much info was left out and it abruptly ends. Chapter 7 ended and I wondered what I just read. I just read one of her other books in a series and this was disappointing
Maya and Ocean’s story is so amazing. I love how it’s just instalove like he knew they were meant to be. It’s really meant to be when you find that person you can tell everything to and feel at peace. Can’t wait to read more from Stormi
While I enjoyed this book I felt that the story was way too short. Amaya and Ocean are hot together but there was opportunities to show more of their relationship and it didn't happen.
Although these are novellas, this one lacked more depth than most. A lot of the relationship developing was glossed over and aspects of the one character were made a big deal of initially, but never really addressed.
The story had potential - just didn't match the quick nature of this novella.
I voluntarily requested and read an uncorrected advance reader copy.
