I’m on a trend of studying attachment style books and am finding a lot written about how to “fix” avoidant tendencies. This one has not been widely read, but it is very optimistic and gives some very good insight and advice on how to become more securely attached in relationships. I especially liked the “shout out” to mindfulness and yoga in helping change out mind chatter and negative self-talk.

I recently discovered about attachment styles and was wondering if I fit into Avoidant Attachment Style. Whilst I found so many points that I relate to, it was almost unrealistically positive. In saying that, the book has really good points in terms of how to fix negative thoughts and establishing self awareness and self esteem by gradually building confidence.

Great book to learn about your attachment style

I’ve always been interested in psychology and why we do the things we do. In this book we learn that many of our experiences are related to our attachment style. A few examples are: Secure Attachment, Insecure Avoidant, and Insecure Ambivalent styles. Taha Zaid focuses on avoidant attachment and how/why change can be realized and accomplished in these individuals. Taha says that those with avoidant attachment styles feel unfulfilled in their relationships with their spouses, their girlfriends or boyfriends, as well as with their families and friends. This is one of the reasons why change is so important. If this resonates with you, definitely check out this book.

Taha Zaid, professional Life and Dating Coach, is here with his latest book. This one focuses on avoidant attachment, defining and showing how to recognize it, then on how to make changes if you wish.
Utilizing case study type anecdotes they hone in on how people interact and develop in their relationships. Through this book there is a drive to find the root causes of this type of behavior along with advice and encouragement to change in a healthy way. There are sections that focus on child behavior, and progresses through teen to adults. This is a useful resource for those that have self-recognized this in themselves and have a desire to change.

Change is hard, sometimes very necessary

This interesting book discusses the attachment theory known as avoidant. The attachment theories were introduced as the emotional dynamic in relationships. The avoidant attachment pretty much describes the loner, introverted type. But humans need connection with other humans, so the avoidant attachment could be a negative emotion. This wonderful resource introduces the need for change and discusses strategies for o I gotta forward. I totally recommend this book, it’s a great read and offers helpful information.

I loved this book. I have read up on attachment styles in babies, but I didn’t read beyond that point. Not only does this book have questions and exercises to help get you out of negative habits, but it also gives you education about why and how the brain functions. I really related to this book, so it was a very helpful read to me.

Some good tips are in here but wow it is really hard to read because there is so much sexism. The author and editors voices are telling women throughout it to be smaller and take up less space in relationship to men. Read instead The Power of Attachment or Attached which at least has some queer couple examples.

This book feels like therapy in paperback form—compassionate, practical, and occasionally calling you out (in the best way). Taha Zaid simplifies the complex, offering tools to help you stop running from vulnerability and start building secure connections.

Surprisingly relatable and even funny at times, it’s perfect for anyone tired of ghosting their own emotions. A must-read for breaking down walls—and maybe sending a subtle hint to your ex.

Some good information but more typos than I’ve ever seen in a published book. Poorly organized, lacked a logical flow and seriously I’ve never seen so many typos.
