I found it inspirational. Business tips and tricks explained in lucid manner. How people behave in different situations, How not to give up on things, learning from environment and our surrounding etc. I learnt from this book. writing style is simple and sweet. Sometimes it makes you laugh, some times it makes you serious, forces you to introspect, many moods..just loved it. Most important is it inspires you to do what you can do best. I will definitely find my lost focus (on studies) after reading this one. This one is collectible for me.

Vithal Kamat is famous hotelier. This book is his life journey from dreamer to owner of world famous five star hotel Orchid. Apart from being five star luxury hotel , Orchid is ecotel which means it is eco friendly. It takes care of worlds major issues by water conservation, energy efficiency, recycling etc. It was first hotel in Asia to get ecotel certification.
His autobiography is very inspiring. Being born in business family is not everything. If you want to be successful in any business you need to have a zeal, self confidence, dedication, commitment and most importantly optimism. Vithal Kamat has seen many ups and down in his life but he never stopped trying. He never got bogged down by sudden unfortunate setbacks, he gave a strong fight and finally fulfill his dream.
This book is recommended for young entrepreneurs, new restaurateurs and also to new readers as a language is very simple.

It is a small, but very inspirational book. The things that I liked about the the author is that how he used his creativity in his business. That was the most important lesson regarding business. One must have innovative ideas to develop their business. His creative ideas teach entrepreneurs a lot.
I was also inspired by the topic where he went on European tour all by himself. He is really an super 'entrepreneur' and that's what he likes to be called.
Really enjoyed reading this book, especially the small details regarding different ideas and how he made them successful.

Idli, Orchid and Will Power is not a book, it is a tell tale of Dr. Vithal Kamat, a successful human being. Yes, I will introduce him to you as a successful being because of two primary reasons – first, you can and will get to know a lot more about him and his life through the book and the resources scattered over internet (including Wikipedia as well) and second, because space might fall short for praising him.

I do not score myself as a person, who could comment anything about Kamat sir or his ability of expression (story telling) but yes, as a younger person and an avid reader, I am all your fan – Dear Sir. This review of mine, will not be a review in true sense rather I will present it as my experience only.

The book is an English translation done by Mr. Sanjit Narwekar. He has done a fine job. Why? This is because while translations sometimes the impact of the incidents fades away but he has managed to maintain the momentum in full swing. So, I could not miss mentioning him here.

This is a compilation of Kamat sir’s journey from son of a restaurant owner to successful entrepreneur, one who is not just entrepreneur but a socially responsible entrepreneur. Starting from the lessons learnt from his father during childhood days to the latest accolades that he continues to earn, he has always worked not to earn but to serve the human kind and to preserve the nature.

Every single incident is a short story within itself illuminating lives of the readers. While reading you will never feel that you are reading some printed pages but you will feel as if an elder member of the family is deciphering his journey these past years. The Hardships discussed do not merely provide you with shortcut solutions or summary of the events rather they make your thinking strong. The development and branding of ORCHID hotel is his life-turning experience.

I feel pride in sharing that this is my second favourite book that I read after becoming a book reviewer.

My View:
I have never visited any of the Kamat hotels till now, but after reading this book I will definitely would like to visit and meet vithal kamat. The person who achieved success with hard work, dedication, honesty, simplicity, self-confidence, an ability to turn all odds and who dreamed big and followed his instinct.
If you are an entrepreneur and would like to achieve goal in your life, this book is for you. Vithal Kamat’s father started as a small restaurant but with dedication to work Vithal made the chain of 350+ hotels in the name of Kamat. Also Vithal kamat has revealed his many secrets and many other thought provoking success. The book is all about dream big and how to convert it into reality.
What I liked the most:
The meeting and conversation between Vithal Kamat and Rai Bahadur Oberoi, the owner of Oberoi group hotels.
The job interview of Vithal Kamat to know his own market value. How much salary he can earn if he is doing a job.

What I didn’t like:
Sometime I think author has exaggerated his abilities like when he was in foreign land and in that particular restaurant their was no traffic, he went to the kitchen started making different varieties and that restaurant started flourishing, I think it is humbug what their chief and their staff has not done is being done by Vithal kamat.
Overall this book will boost your will power; I highly recommend this book for MBA faculties and those who are new to entrepreneurship.

With the company's stock almost doubled in a few weeks, as usual, was hearing the stock's name in business channels frequently and just happen to see this book and picked up to find out what the story behind the company and its promoter.

Promoter seems to be an intelligent fanatic in the hotel industry and the story is how he transformed from a restauranteur to the hotelier plus family drama.
