I really love this series. It’s the perfect blend of funny and serious. We learn more about Uramichi’s childhood in this volume and that was sad. The discussion of how making the kids happy with the show being all that keeps him going was rather sad. I only saw one season of the anime, so I don’t know if he finds new meaning in his life throughout the story.

HELP
after finishing the anime i went to see some edits and accidently read a comment that said that the main character was gay and i immediately ran to read the manga finished it in two days but still no sign of gays.

eder einzelne Band von ‚Life Lessons mit Uramichi‘ killt mich. Der Humor trifft bei mir einfach voll ins Schwarze. Eine Prise Zynismus gewürzt mit bittersüßem Galgenhumor.

Dieser Band führt eine neue Rubrik ein. Ich weiß nicht, warum diese lehrreich sein soll, aber bei der Beschreibung von Uramichis neuer Rolle, bin ich vor Lachen fast weggebrochen. Leser:innen fragen sich zurecht: Warum bekomm er immer die bescheuertsten Kostüme?

Hanabe (im Vorgängerband eingeführt) und Matahiko (neuer Charakter) sind der wahrscheinliche größte Kontrast aller Zeiten.
Während erst-genannter nicht nur schön am Leben vorbei ist und seine zwei unfassbar unterschiedlichen Gesichter mich gruseln, ist Matahiko eine richtige Frohnatur. Ich erhoffe mir gerade wegen des Gegensatzes zum Rest der Bagage viel Screentime für ihn.

Neben platten Witzen, gibt es allerdings auch Sequenzen, die zum Nachdenken anregen. Denn was Uramichi seinen Kids bei ‚Zusammen mit Mama‘ erzählt, ist oftmals nicht von der Hand zu weisen. Mag die Art und Weise noch so strittig sein.

Zudem genieße ich den schönen Zeichenstil, der zwar wenige Hintergründe darbietet, dafür aber detailreiche Charaktere, die starke Emotionen vermitteln und alle eine ganz eigene Aura besitzen.
