When Coraline steps through a door into another house strangely similar to her own (only better), things seem marvelous. But there’s another mother there, and another father, and they want her to stay and be their little girl. They want to change her and never let her go. Coraline will have to use all her wits and courage to save herself and find her way back home again.
Usually when I’m reading a book I’m full of thoughts and opinions. I always know how many stars I want to give each book. But this one I’m really not sure what to say. The movie scared me for years and I’m not sure I want to watch the movie even after finishing the book. The author did a good job at making a creepy story, keeping Coraline true to character as a girl who loves to explore and use her mind, and connecting the beginning back to the ending. Would I ever read it again? No, I don’t feel the desire to. But I joyed my time reading, but at the same time I was okay that it was over. Respectfully, if you like this book I completely understand, it was well written, but I just don’t think it was the story for me.
