Third book in the series of Dragons and Riders. Better paced than the second one. It has complicated and interesting plots though no novel ideas as to the use of magic. This book is so full of detail that it slows down the story to a meander. It takes us on a detour to the Dwarves world where we sit and wait for mayor decisions before we can go back out into the world and begin battle with the real villains. I felt that the death of the old dragon and his rider came only too swiftly for such expert veterans. Also it has too much a traditional feel that Shadeslayer acts on his own impulses and the lovely magical dragon Saphira who is supposed to be her own master acquiesced too much to this young one... I was dissapointed that we have to wait for yet another promise that the next book will be the final resolution...

This is the third book of the series. Eragon is more powerfully from the Dragons Magic and special training, but still finds that he just barely hold himself out against his enemies, even with the help of 12 elves power to aid him. So Eragon goes back to his master in the Elves city and finds out important secretes that revel the evil Gabitorix's power come from.
This book was slow too, and it took it forever to get out. I remember reading it and being really excited because it was the last of the trilogy, but he surprised us all with a fourth book. This book was slow too, full of details and things that i found mundane. I was able to get a lot out of it the second time I read it as i didn't speed read through all the boring parts.

A continued story of Eragon. Got a bit slow and long in places wanted to skim. HIs relationship with Arya a little lame- you know they like each other and they are trying to drag it out while his cousins' relationship they sound a little cheesy and sappy. But on the whole you want to see what happens next I just think it was too long to get to the interesting parts with a lot of fluff to drag it out. They almost make Eragon a little to aragant and weak in areas instead of a humble hero. His training in Ellesmeria was a bit slow too.

While not as entertaining as the past two books I did like it. The extra dragon history, Eragon's family information, and Katrina's rescue were interesting. It did drag on a bit but it was alright. The next book will probably be better since it's the final. I want to know what happens to Galbatorix and his dragon so bad! Plus, I'm sort of hoping Vanir makes a reappearance.

I am loving the continuation of the story from the first two books. Having Roran and Eragon reunited to fight a common foe and to obtain a common objective is great. I love that Roran and Katrina's story is continuing. Eragon is proving to be wise beyond his years in some areas and a fool in other areas.

I did enjoy this 3rd installment of the Eragon series. It was very long which for me can be an issue if it doesn't TOTALLY absorb me and frankly there were times I got a bit bored. The story on the whole is worth reading but it does get bogged down in the details here and there.

I thought this book was okay. I felt like he could have finished up the series with one less book and this one didn't really progress the story very far. But you have to read it in order to get to the next book.

It was good, but slow to read. It is neat that it was written by such a young Author. I enjoyed it enough. But I think I liked the Quest better

Amazing Book! Couldn't have been better, with the right balance of suspence, war and love. I'm so looking forward to the next one.

Definitely my favorite of the series so far! The fight scenes got to be a little lengthy at times but I loved the books!
