Amadeus, Trust No One!

(Target audience recommended: Young Adult such as Jr. High Boys to College Male humor)

Banned in Utah and Nevada, and burned by the Westboro Baptist Church. ATNO! was also made into an intense audio-book (music, sound effects) and narrated huge youtube comedian Brock Baker.

Readers should note that this is not a deep story, but something fun/ridiculous and spoofing on conspiracy thrillers. ATNO! is fast pace, short and on crack. Perfect for something to read on a long trip, boring day at work or for the short attention span.

Phil, a psych student and street musician, is offered a chance to have his college loan's paid off. In-return, he must become disguised as a security guard at Disneyland, to help an F.B.I agent who doesn't have a warrant find a bomb. Phil stumbles across something deadlier than the bomb and it might just get him assassinated. Join in on an intense dark comedy, heart-pounding thriller, which will have you asking the question : "Who do you trust?"

Geoffrey Brokos, born on 6, 18, 1832 in Poland to a Polish father and mother who snuck over to America when they heard of a gold rush in 1848. Geoffrey and his dad would travel to California into gold mines seeking fortune.

It wasn't until 1855 when the rush was nearly over, the family thought they we're going to starve to death with the only little gold they found was being traded for one last meal.

Luck would have it, after Geoffrey ate his last meal before he ventured deep in the Oregon Mystic cavern, (Since they were in Oregon) and Geoffrey was walking around when he fell threw a crack in a dark part of the cave.

Screaming for help and looking for a way to get out without a light; he began rubbing rocks against the rocky floor to get a spark and set his clothes on fire. With a fire brewing, he could see miles of gold sparking back at him.

At that moment, naked, he stumbled to the ground in pain, and had a very long vision. He picked up a rock and began to write what he saw on the wall. He wrote visions of the future so unexplainable at the time. Unfortunately he ran out of wall and fell into a pile of lava.

In 2008, on a tour in Oregon Mystic Cavern, one of the teenagers walked off the path and fell into the same hole Geoffrey did. He used his cell phone and saw all the drawings of each cover of the book (very helpful) and writings written in a language he didn't know on the wall. He also saw a skeleton hand sticking out of the lava with a rock smear on the wall leading there. (Determined later to be the skeleton remains of Geoffrey Brokos.

When I J.S Pumplet, of the National Preservation of Literature, visited the cave, where I learned about the treasure after reading all the writing. I contacted the teenager, but he claimed that the gold wasn't there either when he fell. So who took the gold? We noticed that there were symbols that were not in the same hand writing as Geoffrey. Were these symbols a code of where the treasure had gone?

My team decided to translate all the stories from Polish to English, a process that will end up with eight books. All stories seem to take place in the same "Universe", as with reoccurring characters, and other plots being solved in other stories. We wont know what the symbols mean till we finish the translation of all stories.

Though the translation the stories seemed to be adventure comedy thrillers, with deep dark satire. Sometimes with heart or ridiculousness.

Honestly the best way I can sum up this book is by what the author himself writes in his "About the Author" segment in the back. "I really only put this here to make the book longer and so hot chicks will believe that I actually wrote this book." Seriously. The book starts off alright, even if it seems a quite hurried, like the author wrote all of this in a rush to get his thoughts to paper. The premise is actually a fun one. A man (Phil aka Amadeus Benedict aka Gavin Forrester) is elisted by a friend who works for the FBI to investigate a potential bomb at Disney Land. It starts off very tounge-in-cheek by pointing out obvious plot holes like why Saul is choosing Phil to do this instead of an agent. They actually have a conversation about Phil "picking out the plot holes." From then on the book basically comes streaming at such a frenetic pace that even the author has a tough time differentiating what identity he's using currently and where they are. While at Disney Land he says he thinks someone may have been "born here in England." Another time while he is using his "Gavin" alias someone openly calls him Amadeus (even though at this point none of the characters knew him from when he was Amadeus). The story starts to get very, very convoluted here. Every 4 or 5 chapters there is almost an entirely different plot line and it feels to me like it was written by someone who forgot to take their ADD medication for weeks at a time. The story jumps around, the pacing is FAR too fast to flesh out any of the characters other than Phil (and even then he's a terribly shallow character). The only saving grace is the ending. It does tie everything together (and sets itself up for the sequel, advertised in the back) at the end though, even if the only part concerning who is originally the main antagonist is extremely short (4-5 pages) and the resolution happens in an "off screen" sort of manner. Another thing is that for a second edition, this book is just chock full of grammatical errors. I mean at least 3-4 big ones per chapter. It almost looks like he tried to type this on his iPhone and the auto correct began making the story into crazy jumbles of words. There are times when I felt the character needs to be differentiated from the Author himself as well. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but that's truly how I felt about the book.

The writer has potential as his story is pretty well outside the box but he needs to work on actually making his characters deeper and the interactions feel more meaningful. He needs to add attention to detail in his locations and describe his characters looks much better. For this book though, I feel he completely missed the mark.

I just love this book!

From the cover up to its end..though it’s a bit goric…
The story is fast-paced, full of twist and turns, unexpected situations, revelations and outcomes..
There comes even a time, when I was lost a second, ( that’s how past everything happens)… what’s great here, is the story didn’t need to jump from one scene to another, it just that the flow is perfect leading this one to another.. it just fits perfectly…

I also salute Mr. Brokos for an innovative mind, and the things he revealed as US government conspiracy.. it’s awesome and stunning..(well, if those things actually happen in life…

I remember came back for my things in the baggage counter in a mall, the baggage boy asked me, if this book is really based on truth… I asked him why would he say that..and he said he can’t help but get curious especially when he saw the cover but swore that he only read the first pages… well, what can I say, I don’t know too, since the author said in a note to a reader that this is based on real people and locations… so it’s up to YOU..what d’you think about the book.

Suspense, thrill, conspiracies, deceit and humor pack up into a little book..That’s another thing I want to take up here, I really wish it’s a little bit longer…I was left wanting for more when I turned the page and discovered the cover..it was truly a cliff-hanger yet fulfilling!

Recommended to everyone who wants to experience some spooky and conspiring tale!... A really good book!

I won this book through Goodreads Giveaway.I really didn't know what to expect.I can sum up this book is by what the author himself writes in his "About the Author" segment in the back. "I really only put this here to make the book longer and so hot chicks will believe that I actually wrote this book." The book starts off alright, but I felt the book was rushed. The premise is actually a fun one. A man (Phil aka Amadeus Benedict aka Gavin Forrester) is elisted by a friend who works for the FBI to investigate a potential bomb at Disney Land. Saul Wu assigned a case to Phil which involved looking for an explosive device.Phil would need to cut his long hair and wear a disguise. He was to be given a tracking device which locates materials normally found in explosives.Saul would watch Phil on his laptop in a SWAT van through Phil's contact camera lenses.Phil would be taking the identity of a transferring security guard so he would be considered an employee. The story jumps around, the pacing is FAR too fast to flesh out any of the characters other than Phil. The only saving grace is the ending. It does tie everything together. The writer has potential as his story is pretty well outside the box but he needs to work on actually making his characters deeper and the interactions feel more meaningful.I liked the art work at the beginning of some of the chapters. It was an Okay read.

To be honest, I really almost hate to review this book. It was certainly a fast read - I read it in a couple of hours. I liked the premise and I liked the way it poked fun at all the thrillers on the market with plot holes big enough to drive a Dodge truck through.

I enjoyed the beginning and, at first, I got a kick out of how the main character just kept getting into situations each more convoluted than the previous one. It's the kind of story where you leave your willing suspension of disbelief at the door and just slam with the momentum. Unfortunately, all the editing problems tended to break the flow of the story and made it hard to care, never mind follow. It was like having someone tell you what starts out like a great joke only to have them lose track every few seconds so by the time they reach the punch line, you're just glad it's over. Normally, I try to ignore editing problems with Indie books but, according to the author, this was a second rewrite so gaffs the size of the ones in this book should have been caught. Too bad they weren't because this book has the potential to be a lot of fun.

the beginning was interesting, but i honestly got really confused towards the end. the ending was quite unexpected. i liked the main character and the time spent at the first main location, but it sort of went all downhill and strange from there. i wanted to really like this book, but it was just ok for me. and it needs SERIOUS editing. there is almost a mistake per page. it showed promise, but didn't achieve my expectations.

I won this book through a Goodreads Giveaway, and my 12 year old grandson wanted to read it. What follows is his review:
This book is full of twists and turns and kept me guessing literally to the last sentence. It`s full of mystery and quite a few conspiracies. It`s a pretty quick read but a very worthy one. I would recommend this book to my friends!

This book was pretty good in the middle with the twists and turns, but it took a little bit for me to get through the beginning and the end of it. Overall, it was just a likeable book, but I would like to read more by the author, Geoffrey Brokos.

I got this bood from goodreads.com. This book was really weird, but good. It kept jumping around with ideas and characters. I am sharing it with my family and friends.
