How Do Your Lungs Work? is a book describing the process of airflow through the lungs. It described the anatomy of the lungs as well as how each part of the lungs function. It has pronunciation of various parts of the lungs for students to learn how to speak the medical language, not just read it.
I liked how this book had simple pictures and had an easy vocabulary to go along with them. I have been in science classes before, and I know this information can be overwhelming. In this short picture book, it was clear and simplistic.
I would use this in my classroom for students who have an interest in science. I could even have this book in my class for students who have an interest in asthma, even though it does not talk directly about asthma it can be a good foundation for how healthier lungs work.
This is a great book to teach young people about lungs. It has pronunciations in parentheses and terrific pictures along with the text and in the glossary. It's level J, so it has little text on the page. Good intro to the human body.
