Hart was recognized with several awards, including five from the National Cartoonists Society, and the Swedish Adamson Award. In his later years, he sparked controversy by incorporating overtly Christian themes and messages into the strips.

There is much beauty in nature - and the female cavewomen just around the corner - and it will take a lot of guts for B.C and his buddies to survive it all. Hart is sure to keep fans glued to the pages of this entertaining look at a world before ours, and all the wonders it carries. Take care with the many wonders of the world lest they decide to be the top of the food chain.

Holy schmow! Found it! 14 books in! (Well, 13, since I didn't do the Sunday one.)

As a child I numbered these books according to...well, I'm not sure where I got the idea of their order, but I got it mostly wrong. I guess I'm more surprised now that I got this one right.

Anyway, this is another good mix which I think is remarkable, after 15 years. There are visual jokes, puns, character driven stuff, ideas that stretch out into running gags, and it feels really fresh. The one I was looking for was based on Thor having a wheel dealership and (naturally) orienting the humor around the scams that go with selling cars.

I've got another 10 or so books but I'll probably stop for now. Still, hats off to Hart. He did this while also writing jokes for Wizard of Id for a decade. Kinda impressive.

Coming out in 1973, collecting strips from 68 and 69. I can’t give any more specific dates for the period covered, for this volume they’ve removed the date that a strip ran from the drawubg. Anyway Hart’s still in great form here, genuinely funny.
