4.75 stars! I really enjoyed this story! Takes place in 1790s. It starts off with Sabrina being a kind of Scarlett O’Hara from Gone with the Wind type character but after she loses her wealth she changes a lot. Sion is doing everything he can to help himself and another family survive. When he rescues Sabrina from being assaulted he has the tables turned on him by the man and is convicted and put in jail. Sabrina gets the help of a lawyer and gets Sion out as her indentured servant. They both go to America together to check out some land that her father owns. They meet their neighbors and together they learn about community living. They also encounter Indians. As Sion and Sabrina work together, they grow in friendship and then more. I love how Sion is a strong man of faith. He helps Sabrina to know the Lord. I did think there was some historical errors but overall good. This story has great Christian content! I loved it and definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
Content: some moderate violence (description of Indian killings and scalping), some mild violence with slapping women, mentions of a Indian man feeling up the women’s bodies when they are kidnapped(mild detail but some readers may be uncomfortable)
Her riches run low when her father dies. Sabrina decides to travel to America. Sion finds himself in prison when he tries to help Sabrina. She gets him out by making him an indentured servant. Together they travel across the ocean to a new home.
The journey across the Atlantic Ocean reminded me of my Navy days. As was in the book, the waters were choppy and also like in the book I became seasick. (But not to the extent of Sabrina.)
I loved going back in time. Stagecoach ride, wagons, and horses. The journey was hard. The skirmishes with the Indians and unlawful men made it tougher. Yet, the spirit of the early pioneers pressed on.
Sabrina's character changed considerably from the beginning of the book. Hard times can do that to a person. I loved this book. The only regret: It's the last one in this series. I'll miss the characters and the adventures.
Sabrina Fairfax was a pampered and spoiled only child of an English father who loved to gamble. When he lost his fortune and then died with a stroke, Sabrina was devastated. She met Sion Kenyon from Wales one dark night on the street when she was attacked by two men, one of which was a lord. Sion rescued her and was sentenced to prison for striking the despicable lord. Sabrina saved him from prison by indenturing him and taking him to America to help her find the land in the new world her father had left her. They traveled to what is now Tennessee, and met some helpful Americans. Only when Sabrina was taken captive by hostile Indians, and rescued again by Sion and others, did she free him from the indenture so he could marry her.

A Welsh man falls in love with an English lass on the American Frontier.
Enjoyed the ending to this series. Sion and Sabrina started out with heartache and barely being able to make it . But they came together to help each other. But in the midst of it all they fell in love. Hannah and Fox had there hard moments in the story too. But they finally came together as one. I was hoping Josh would find someone too wish they would of done one more story.
I loved this series and completed all its books rather quickly. I was a little disappointed in this book. It felt a little rushed and seemed like an abrupt ending for a series. From what see? I’m not aware of additional books in this series, thus the story line throughout the series feels incomplete.
