Award-winning novelist Trish Perry has written more than 26 inspirational romances and devotionals for Harvest House Publishers, Summerside Press, Barbour Publishing, Winged Publications, Mountainbrook Ink, Summerside, Broadstreet Publishing, and Worthy Inspired. She has served as a columnist and as a newsletter editor over the years, as well as a 1980s stockbroker and a board member of the Capital Christian Writers organization in Washington, D.C. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and holds a degree in Psychology.

If you like Christian chick-lit, this is for you. I have finally learned that I don't like Chick-lit, Christian or otherwise. It's a nice story with a few chuckle-worthy moments. What I was hoping for was a original, fun, and quirky book. Shortly into it, I found myself thinking, "Same old, same old".

This was a fun contemporary read. One of the things I liked about it was the deeper issues of adoption, and mother/mother-in-law issues. It was humorous, especially the beginning, but it got beyond the laughter to make you think about trust in God and waiting on his timing.

Ren's is reeling-literally-from a recent divorce so when she meets a handsome nurse named Tru after fainting at a Walmart she isn't so sure about striking up a relationship with him. It doesn't help that Ren is prone to pitfalls--from her mother meddling by setting her up with someone else, to her big mouth getting her into trouble when she has a chance to meet Tru's sister Ren faces plenty of obstacles on her road to true love. She faces big issue too-like her dream of adopting an adorable little boy falling through and running into her ex--with his new girlfriend and baby boy. But with God--and Tru's--help Ren will make it and find happiness in the end.[return]I really enjoyed this book, it has all the fun elements of chick-lit with a good uplifting message. And the characters seemed so down to earth and real, I could totally relate to them. Chick-lit and romance fans will devour this one.

I LOVED Trish Perry's first book, The Guy I'm Not Dating and could not wait to read this one as well. I wasn't immediatly mesmerized by this one like I was the last onebut once I got into it I enjoyed it as well. And I finished it in one day so overall I think it's worth the read!

I love Christian chick-lit! This book was great! 4 stars! When one door closes, another opens! The main character Rennie learned this many times throughout the book and it really inspired me! This book was well written and I'm looking forward to reading more books from author Trish Perry!

While I don't think I enjoyed Ren and Tru's story as much as Kara and Gabe's, I did like it.
I appreciated that both Ren and Tru were trying to follow God's leading in their lives, including in their relationship. That being said, Ren definitely jumped to conclusions WAY too easily instead of stopping and considering what she already knew about Tru and his character. Of course, we didn't see things from Tru's point of view, so he may have been engaging in similar 'antics'.
I did really like that they were both able to face their respective mothers and set healthy boundaries that would benefit not just Ren and Tru, but ultimately their mothers as well.

Story:
Not bad per se, but not for me. Slow-paced, lots of gossipy dialogue and the book couldn’t seem to go more than about 8 words without mentioning God. (I can get that she found him and this was a big part of her life, but in the instance of this book it was more like an obsession. Like she was purposely making an effort to trade in free thought for the ‘WWJD’ line of thinking and it was a bit much.)

2 stars.

The narrator did an excellent job and overall sound quality is high.

A sweet romance with a touch of heartbreak, humor, and faith. It's so nice to read about characters who actually go to church and pray about things. Having said that, it isn't overly preachy and not every character is religious.
Also, this is my next audiobook project and I can't wait to start recording! Here's hoping all that heart and comedy comes out in my narration!

Had to skim towards the end. These characters are SO ANNOYING! And when it got to the point of Tru and Ren (horrible names btw) bickering over their both equally annoying mothers and Ren deciding to be fickle and suddenly fall in love with a friend (who's not a believer but she tries to justify it) I just had to skim. This chick needs to get it together!
