In my opinion, Thai is easier to lean than English because we don’t have to worry about Verb Tense and the relation of Subject and Verb as in English. The most difficult part of the Thai language is how to differentiate the five tones such as mai which can be taken to mean as wood, new, burn, doesn’t and widow. Since the choice of tone will decide the meaning of a word, the speaker has to be very careful to use the correct tone; otherwise the listener will easily misunderstand it. The best way to overcome this difficulty is to mimic Thai speakers as much as possible. Only then you will be able to master this language within a short period of time. In writing this book, I tried to make the system of vowel transcription simple so that it will be easy for learners to understand by themselves without having to ask a Thai. Above all, I tried to use the English equivalents to cover all Thai vowels. The chapters proceed from basic structures to complicated conversations in various situations. It will be very convenient for all the readers to study by themselves. It is the best tool to help the learner to speak Thai with confidence. I hope you will enjoy learning Thai and spend your time in Thailand with great pleasure.
