Rate this book
Two of New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury's most beloved novels are now available together in this expertly packaged omnibus.

LIKE DANDELION DUST is a powerful novel about two parents, their love for their adopted son, Joey, and the suprising lengths they will go to keep their family together when a judge rules that Joey must be returned to his biological father. In the days that follow, Jack Campbell has a desperate and dangerous thought. What if they can devise a way out? Then they could take Joey and disappear...like dandelion dust.

THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN is a story of secrets, broken relationships, and a love strong enough to reunite a family. Annie Warren always wanted the best for her son, Josh. But years of failure and bad choices created a heartbreaking distance. When Annie sets out to defend her son, she might find a treasure more valuble than money, one she never expected, this side of heaven.

This is the first book I have read by this author but I can not wait to go out and get more of her books. Both stories touch your heart so much that not only do you not want to put the book down but there were moments that I had to stop just to wipe my eyes. Great books!!

I actually had the book Like Dandelion Dust and not both stories. Although if I find the second one I would probably read it. This book is very unlike most books I read, it was a quick read, and a very emotional book. Kingsbury is a Christian author, having faith as a big inspiration for her writing. It definitely draws you in, about an adoptive family and the biological family of a little boy.

Like dandelion dust was my first Christian fiction read in a lil while (I’ve read most of Karen Kingsbury books a few years ago.. after that I read most Terri blackstocks books and eventually just ran out and branched out to secular (but clean) reads! This book touched my heart and I had that good Holy Spirit cry. Like that wholesome “praise God” kind of cry 😂 honestly I found some parts predictable but I didn’t even care. It was heart warming and just a sweet read.
This side of heaven.. now that one there were a few twists and turns I didn’t expect! Then to find out part of this story is based on her brothers life… wow! I really was connecting with Josh and absolutely loved his heart!! I wanted the parents to see all his heart of gold moments and appreciate him for who he is. The part with the neighbours bringing back the eggs and .. well if you know you know.. I was completely shocked! I don’t know how I missed it with the title of the book being “this side of heaven” it was a real tear jerker. A beautiful story that was even more beautiful when I realized that a big percentage of it was true! I’ve really enjoyed this books. They pulled me in. They weren’t jam packed with action or unpredictability but they were page turners that were heart warming, edifying, and sweet.

The 1st story is very good and very touching. As a mother myself I cannot imagine how to hand over the kid back to his biological parents., especially they are totally not suitable to look after the kid. Honestly, I would do the same as try to runaway with the kid in order.to keep him safe.

For the second novel, it was good but I did not enjoy as much as the other novel. Sometimes kids may not be as successful as we want them to be. But, still they are our kids. We should give them time and listen to their thought, believe in them and encourage them. I felt so sorry for their parents and his elder sister. They truly learn their brother from other people or personal items after he passed away.

Great book. Actually, it was two books for the price of one. I love Karen Kingsbury. She writes good books and they have Christian values which I love.

This book is actually two novels. Both are about mothers and what moms will give up for their children... How moms mess up and how they love despite it all. Two good reads, which I read around the mothers day weekend. I found both books a little preachy at times, but I kind of expected that. I preferred "This Side of Heaven" since the story seemed more realistic.

Like Dandelion Dust -- After adopting and loving their child, the parents are smacked right in heart. They are faced with the fact that their son might have to be returned to his birth father. This puts the whole family through all kinds of stress and worry but all works out in the end.

Engaging characters and lovely stories of faith if you would like a light read. Nothing too heavy, but a nice, entertaining and sweet ride.
