I found every article in this book worth reading, covering a variety of topics in a very thought-provoking and edifying manner. The first four articles dealt with the biblical foundation for the office of elder. Then three more articles dealt on his own personal spiritual life and qualifications. This was followed by five articles on the roles and responsibilities as a leader of God's people, concluded by four articles on general duties (presbytery, synod, administration of discipline and the sacraments).
I've read a number of books in the past on elders and this is one of the better ones in my opinion. Comprehensive, yet clear and instructive. It's very focused on the practical and has a number of questions and suggestions at the end of each article.
