Two cops who’ve lost their partners in the line of duty and life are both lonely but hesitant about beginning a relationship with someone new. Will one of them accept the others proposition to start over or remain alone because of their places on the police force?
Michael Mandrake pens complex characters already comfortable with their sexuality. Through these, he builds worlds not centered on romance but rather the mainstream and/or obscure plots we might encounter in everyday life and beyond. I really liked the overall story line but was confused with the characters. I would have enjoyed seeing them developed a little more. I would have liked to maybe know a little more about Farris and Daniel.
The intense physical need between Ferris and Daniel was nice to see. Here you have two very tough cops, both having lost their partners/lovers; yet trying to get past that so that they can love once again.
Michael Mandrake has a way of getting you into the story and feeling how hard it actually must be for these two men to work together with macho cops, hiding how they feel for one another.
The dialogue was a little slow in spots but over all a really nice love story. Kudos to Mr. Mandrake.
Reviewed by Kerri: The first thing I liked about this story was the easy way in which the writing flowed. I'm not a fan of first person POV, but Michael Mandrake did a wonderful job and I was really drawn into the story, quickly getting a terrific feel for the two main characters.
The sex was sensual and I have to say when I was reading, it was like I was there with them. That's always a good thing in my opinion when an author is able to do that.
If you like cop storylines, great writing, and a decent story then snap this one up!
I don't like to leave one star ratings without making some comment to explain myself. What to say without being rude??? The cover is just not good. The editing needed to be better. There are a lot of typos, and am I the only one who noticed Ferris tastes Starbucks latte on Daniel's mouth when they're drinking beer? The writing could've been better. I don't need a lot of details about the setting but some would be nice. Referring to semen as 'natural wine' and precum as 'pre passion juice'?? This story was just not for me.

Not sure what's up with the MC referring to men's body parts as being 'like a female's' which is 'just the way he likes it' twice in one scene, but it turned me right off. That and the dodgy writing and unappealing characters.
