Journey of the Soul #3

The Nature of Good and Evil

Rate this book
We constantly see the "senseless violence" in our world, and it begs the question: "How can an all-loving God allow this to exist?" Indeed, many people simply reject any notion of God for this very reason. This book, the third in Sylvia Browne's Journey of the Soul series, gives you the philosohical framework to understand the nature of good and evil—and the role of God in the big picture. When you see how evil originated and why it thrives in our world, you're more prepared to face it and overcome it. Sylvia points out that you need not fear "evil spirits" or "curses"—which are merely stories bred from ignorance. And how would you like to serve as one of God's warriors of Light? Sylvia explains how to enlist!

By combining her philosophical and theological views, Sylvia creates a spiritual umbrella that rises above traditional religion. All paths that lead to knowing God have merit—Sylvia simply invites you to know Him/Her in your own way, free of dogma and fear.

Sylvia Browne was an American author and self-proclaimed psychic who built a lucrative career through books, television appearances, and psychic readings. Known for her frequent guest spots on The Montel Williams Show and Larry King Live, she claimed to communicate with angels, spirit guides, and the deceased, and said she had psychic visions from the age of three. In 1986, she founded the Society of Novus Spiritus, a Gnostic Christian church, and ran a variety of businesses, reportedly earning millions annually.
Browne wrote over 40 books, many of which were bestsellers, and maintained a dedicated fanbase throughout her life. However, her career was marked by controversy. She made numerous high-profile predictions about missing persons and criminal cases that were later proven false—errors that drew widespread criticism and scrutiny from skeptics and media outlets. A 2010 study by the Skeptical Inquirer concluded she had not been accurate in any verifiable case. Her reputation suffered further after her 1992 conviction for securities fraud.
Despite criticism from figures like James Randi and John Oliver, Browne retained a devoted following. Her vague prediction about a “pneumonia-like illness” spreading around 2020 drew renewed attention during the COVID-19 pandemic. She remained a polarizing figure—revered by some, discredited by others—until her death in 2013 at the age of 77.

This set of three books changed my life!!! I use to be scared to sleep at night. Thats when I'd worry about hell and if I'd go there, of dying in general. But after reading these books and all of Sylvia's books i am no longer afraid. I believe in God and heaven but not hell.

Sylvia Browne does a interesting job in explaining the reason there is evil in the world. She also is able to channel her two spirit guides from the other side who assist to explain our role in the world in relation to why there are bad people. Why are there sociopaths and psychopaths in the world? This book allows us to understand that there is a spiritual, not religious, way to analyze this.

I enjoy the insight of Sylvia Browne, and this final book in her "triology" had some stong-metaphysical points in it. However, the last 100 pages of it included a lot of "meditations" for the reader to practice, but there's a lot of steps to remember...maybe if I had this as a "book on CD", the meditations would be more user-friendly and effective.

Sylvia shares the basic tenets of Gnosticism and the concept of "mother God." Her Novus Spritus church is founded on gnostic beliefs, and she makes a strong historical case for this movement. Sylvia includes many guided meditations for healing, cleansing, asking for help, etc.

My girlfriend gave me this book to read. She has all of Sylvia's books. I've actuall read the other two books in this series as well. Alot of what she talks about in this book connects with what I was taught growing up. It makes alot of since. Good read

Probably my least favorite of the Journey of the Soul Series. I don't remember anything really profound.

Unfortunately I think Sylvia Browne is just really good at marketing not at telling the future of speaking to ghosts!
