The title says it all, Chess Tactics for Beginners and, is Just that, a beginner's book designed for 900 to 1100 ELO. The book is written in descriptive notation, I would like to see it printed in algebraic, that being said I really enjoyed reading it. I look at the book as a basic chess skills review book for me, there are other good books on chess tactics, but this is a foundation book, and without a good foundation the building will eventually collapse.
This book has already helped me win more games. 10 concrete tactics were explained, complimented by 81 puzzles and 3 mini-games. It was very checkmate-heavy though; I would have liked a bit more strategy for setting myself up well at the beginning of a game.
