This book does a great job of teaching characters as well as words in the Chinese language. However, I struggled with pronunciation a lot. Plus I was looking for something with more basic vocabulary than what this offered. I wanted numbers and food words and basic items around the house, etc.

Very introductory book. I think it is better suited for children, but adults can still get a lot out of this small volume.
