Generation of Curses
Khadesia Hill s life could not be better. She is the wife of the debonair Assistant Pastor, Malcolm Hill, youngest son and first choice to succeed his father as pastor of the mega church, Solid Rock Christian Ministries. Obedience to the Lord led her to California twelve years earlier where she met and married Malcolm, and gave birth to their daughter. Her world shatters when a detective shows up at her business one day. He claims to have evidence that could possibly link her to an ex-boyfriend s murder ten years ago in her home town. Secrets about her past unfold and cast shadows over her pure reputation in the church and with Malcolm s family. When the news is revealed, Malcolm s older brother Corbin and his wife Stacie step up efforts to win Corbin his father s seat as the next pastor. Stacie s friend Maxie, who has a long-time attraction to Malcolm, enters the picture at the wrong time and causes a love triangle by trying to sway Malcolm her way. Will Khadesia s and Malcolm s faith and trust in God remain steadfast through the crises in their lives.

The Past Shall Come To Light
Khadesia’s life has always been in turmoil. When she becomes an adult, it seems to become even more horrific. She finds herself in a troubled relationship that ends horribly leaving her with the blame. Khadesia makes a strong sacrifice to escape her past by leaving everything, including family, to move on with her life. In her new life, she marries an assistant Pastor, Malcolm, and has a daughter, Tiara, and is now included in a strong religious family, the Hills. Life is good until her past begins to unravel and finally catches up with her to destroy everything that she’s worked to accomplish. When the news hits the Hill family and the congregation, Khadesia must make some serious decisions that may destroy her and her family. Will she continue to have strong faith in GOD while battling the tough circumstances thrown her way?
“A Generation of Curses” is Christian fiction and an inspiring novel that will persuade all readers to keep a strong faith in GOD to help overcome any battles that life tends to unravel. This novel is well written – excellent work! I liked the way the authors created a story that seems very typical today but inspires the reader to stand on their faith in GOD to overcome any battle in life. I really enjoyed this novel and feel that it displayed true behavior. I know that I cannot judge anyone but many times I find more hypocrites in church than anywhere else. This novel has inspired me to resort back to my faith in GOD to help lead me through the many barriers faced during my life at this time.
I look forward to reading more novels from the authors Patricia A. Bridewell and Faatima Albasir-Johnson moving forward.

The prologue is explosive, where we read that Khadesia is marked as a "monster" or simply misunderstood. Was she guilty of a hideous, horrendous crime of murdering her ex-boyfriend? She was unable to convince the detectives, police officers, even her cell-mate; therefore, how will she prove her innocence to the judge while resting behind the prison bars. She fights to keep her sanity, put all the pieces together, and shares her past tragedy—the moment Laron was shot and laid in his pool of blood. Here, we have a woman who has been physically and verbally abused by a man who doesn't trust her, their relationship, and jealous lover who accuses her of cheating and watching her in the darkness. Later, Khadesia has a “Cinderella” lifestyle by marrying the man of her dreams—Malcolm Hill, assistant pastor of Solid Rock Ministries. Regardless of the rivalry between Malcolm and his elder brother, Corbin, in regards to passing the pastor’s baton to the next best man; debate between favored versus oldest. Then, Stacie, Corbin’s wife doesn’t want to be a stay-home mom and neither does Corbin want to step into ministerial leadership—both are pushing each other into roles they do not wish to partake in.
Dream Moment(s): So many woman have similar abusive relationships, and loved how the author(s) wrote the opening chapter with such conviction, emotion-rendered to get into the mindset/feelings of the female character, and brilliantly written to keep us on the edge of our seats with question marks that will hopefully have periods and exclamation points! Suspense and mystery is heightened just from the opening...
Dream 4 More: Mother Hill, first lady, believed in training a child the way they should go in which was her favorite quote/scripture too. However, she didn’t only speak about it or criticize how the young girls acted or dressed and decided to start “Classy Lady” classes for the young girls. We should not just “talk about it” but “do something about it”. These characters were linked so creatively and nearly attached to each one in a different perspective, well-written, and loved the story from start to finish. I hope these authors continue to write together and mesh beautiful, rich stories in the Christian Fiction genre.

Khadesia Hill has to face the past she has fought to forget in A Generation of Curses by Patricia Bridewell. Khadesia is an event planner with a thriving business, loving husband and a beautiful daughter. Khadesia has everything and all is well until a detective knocks on her door asking questions. Khadesia world has now been turned upside down and she will have to fight to make sure her past does not ruin her family.
Malcolm Hill is an assistant pastor of Solid Rock Christian Ministries who is next in line to take over for his father. When Malcolm learns about his wife's past and what it could mean for his family, he starts to second guess his marriage. Malcolm starts to ask himself, did he really know his wife? How will these problems affect the church's credibility? These questions are not the only ones Malcolm should be asking especially when one of the Hill family's friend, Maxine, starts paying close attention to Malcolm.
Stacie, Malcolm's sister-in-law, believes, Corbin, should be next in line to take his father's position as the head of Solid Rock Christian Ministries. Stacie has a plan in motion to place her husband in the pulpit while she claims her spot as First Lady. When a person wants something so bad they often make mistakes and Stacie is no different.
A Generation of Curses is about family, secrets and struggle of power. Khadesia's past family history caused a lot of issues in her present because she would never deal with them. After reading A Generation of Curses, readers will understand that running from your problems only causes damage. I enjoyed the well-developed characters and the storyline twists and turns in the storyline. This book was suspenseful, entertaining and had the right amount of drama. I recommend this book to others.

I really enjoyed this book. It goes to show you may face obstacles in your life but if you keep your faith; everything is going to be all right.
