Winnie the Witch is an accident waiting to happen! So join her, if you dare, with her long-suffering cat Wilbur in eight exciting escapades. Whether they're scoring goals, selling knickers, catching bats, or eating turkey-tonsil titbits, giggles are guaranteed in these superb stories, each one packed with pictures by Korky Paul.
It had some fun moments, but mostly it was a bit of the same over and over again. Winnie does x, fails at y, things happen, things get solved, the end. And I didn't always like Winnie. The art was so-so.
You can spot Winnie The Witch books on the shelves straight away from the orange and yellow stripes on the spine.
I sort of remember reading Winnie The Witch picture books when I was very young, but haven't actually read any again until now.
I picked this particular copy of the book up because on the front it says Eight magical stories in Colour, and when flicking through it I really liked the illustrations so knew I would enjoy it.
The eight stories are: 1. Winnie's Knickers 2. Winnie Goes Batty 3. Winnie's Bubble Trouble 4. Winnies Big Catch 5. Car Boot Winnie 6. Big Top Winnie 7. Winnie Scores! 8. Winnie Digs Deep
The illustrations are great and the stories are funny - overall a brilliant book.
I cannot help feeling that the illustrations are messy and it is making me dizzy. Winnie the silly witch has a cat Wilbur who is her only friend. There are 8 stories and many of them are not funny. I like the first book the best.
