As kids, many of us dreamed of having our own horse. At 13,Lyn was no different. When she begins to work at a local stable, she thinks itis a dream come true. When she finds a starving, old horse she knowsimmediately what she must do. Unable to afford the cost of horse ownership, sheseeks the aid of several adults. She soon comes to the realization, however,that few people share her concern for the old mare.As she tries desperately to find a way to save the horse,Lyn discovers much about herself, as well as the true character of others.
