Mommy says: This is the beloved Little Golden Book I learned to read with many years ago. It's now out of print, and my tattered and worn copy is in a safe place, but I found another copy for my kids. It's the tale of a shy little kitten who finally learns to defend herself and ends up making a friend. I was surprised that my daughter didn't care for it as much -- she loves kitties but did not like that the kitty smacked the big scary dog. Hmm... maybe she'll understand better the next time we read it! She DID sneak the book off to her room.
