A retired carpenter, sceptical of everyone and everything, uses the treehouse he built for his estranged children as a platform to enlighten the unenlightened below. The treehouse is also a refuge from where he can also spy on his neighbours, a couple he believes to be vampires. Vampires who are awaiting the day a neighbour's child turns fourteen - the day she comes of age and is ripe with virginal blood. But, as he puts it to the policeman he calls to warn them of his suspicions, not on his watch.
