Owen Foote wants to be a real scientist with a white lab coat. He’d like to spend the next school year in Mr. Wozniak’s fourth-grade class, where science is king. Owen figures that Mr. Wozniak will let him and his friend Joseph in if they can win first prize in the school science fair. But the “project,” a uromastyx lizard named Chuck, isn’t exactly cooperative. The boys come up with another idea that seems like a winner, but once again, unruly personal feelings seem to be undermining the scientific method. It takes an inspired blend of science and friendship to get them back on track. Fast-paced and funny, this new story treats themes of competition, ambition, squeamishness, and loyalty in the appealing style Owen Foote fans have come to expect.

A male Dory Phantasmagory. Owen is an ideas man who sometimes gets carried away. I think the part where he realized he was steamrolling his friend was a bit too subtle but otherwise it was hilarious, cute, and perfect for my own little ideas man (who also steamrolls everyone with less impressive ideas).
Owen Foote Might Scientist is just one in the series of Owen Foote books. This strong boy character will keep readers moving right along with his humor and solving his science project dilemma with his best friend. The large bold text will be encouraging to new chapter book readers. Pencil draws depict highpoint sin the text. Student will be able to relate to Owen in this book as well as the others in the series.
Cute book about an elementary-aged boy who loves Science and wants to get into the "sciency" class next year by creating a fabulous Science Fair project with his best friend. While I don't condone experimenting with animals, I did like the twist that the two boys presented their project with. I won't give away what happened.
This was about a boy who was interested in science, and he was going to have lizards. His lizards did not like him, and so then they used tadpoles. I would use this in the classroom to show how the students how science can be fun.
