Great book to read with the kid. Each chapter was its own little tale. So fun. It also blew our minds to find out Robin Hood was a real life hero whose tales have been passed down. And now we need to plan a trip to Sherwood Forest.

Will never not be a fan of this story no matter how it's told! I first read this when watching the BBC show as a kid. Re reading it now at 25, it is 100% a kid's book; maybe just read it to kids, it even has pictures!

Fun to read this classic tale. This version was fast-paced, easy to understand, and worked well as a read aloud.

Well this book was kinda annoying to read because the characters were pretty annoying. Didn't like Robin and even some of his men but especially Robin, almost just as much as I obviously didn't like the villains of this book. Robin was proud, inconsiderate and just a mischievous and seemingly careless person. I am glad when he was taught some lessons. I did warm up to him and the others a tiny bit in the end and almost wanted to cry when the last two pages came about discussing his legend. But otherwise a pretty meh book due to most of the meh characters but since this is a seemingly children's book, I'll try to be a little understanding. The plot was fun at times especially in the end and truly an adventure in some ways. Plus this edition of the book and the tale was really pretty to read through and the art itself was really cool to look at too! The writing was fine too.

I read a couple of chapters of this to my little brother every night before bed. He and I both loved hearing the shenanigans Robin Hood and his friends got up to. It reminded me of the good in the world and that standing up to evil is something we can all do on one level or another, something I really hope will stick with my little brother as he grows up. Brilliant adaptation, would read again.

After watching the 2010 Robin Hood movie the 14yr old pointed out that we had a copy of this, so I quickly read it out of curiosity

One and a half stars!

Set in the times of 'good King Richard' which about says it all as far as I'm concerned.
The only interesting bit was Will Stutely leading 30 archers to Austria to rescue Richard. And RH and MM marrying, having children and living to a ripe old age.

Terry Riley's illustrations were serviceable.
