"Love is a feeling to be learned. It is anxiety and contentment. It is deep yearning and hostility. It is pleasure and it is pain. There is not one without the other. Happiness is only a part of love. Suffering belongs to love also. This is the mystery of love, its beauty and its burden."
bought this for 10¢ at a library bookstore, mostly for the cover. it’s really just very old fashioned conservative platitudes on heterosexual love and sex (“masturbation is a cry for help”)— nothing i haven’t already heard tenfold by everyone around me growing up
I first read this excellent book as a teenager over 20 years ago and I loved it's truthful, practical and ageless perspective on love and relationship. I still cherish the principles as a wife and mother. I recommend to young adults seeking for guidance on the same issue.
Wonderful booklet for young people intending to wait until marriage. I like most of Walter Trobisch writings. Clear, easy to read and to the point. Most religious books I find are unnecessarily wordy. His aren't.
