This is a story about teens. Perhaps geared toward YA. That is not bad. It just is.
I found the boy over the top - but young unrequited love can bring about obsession. So, that was not horrible. Just the depth of these kinds of feeling seemed (as two were obsessed - the suicide gal and Robert - the main boy in this tale) well beyond normal teenage angst.
My issue lies with inconsistencies - or out of place bits that seemed implausible. Parents with no knowledge or say in where an elementary school age child went and with whom? Yes, I believe that young kids get crushes and even fairly significant others - but am hard pressed to see parents allowing such to become obsessive and all consuming at such a young age as elementary school, maybe middle school and high school to be sure. There are others, I just cite the one.
Overall, it is an okay look at teenage angst - but the obsessiveness was overdone when considering two characters displayed such over the top emotions. One, I see...two...not so much.
Many may still enjoy for a fast short read. Did not strike any high notes for me.
