Ethan leaves the only home he's ever known on a mission to find those responsible for attacking Grey Ridge, and to find a mate of his own. Guilt consumes him over the near death of his friend's mate. He won't return as beta until he's proven he can protect his pack. Nothing will distract him from his quest for justice, including finding his fated mate. No matter how much it hurts.
When a handsome stranger beats down Belle's door and turns her world upside down, she knows she'll never be the same. With her mate in danger, Belle will do anything to help him, including putting her future happiness, and her life, at risk by going undercover with the enemy. Nobody will stop her doing whatever it takes, but will her mate be able to forgive her.
This is book 5 in the Shifters of Grey Ridge series, a steamy wolf shifter romance with rejected mates and a happily ever after.
Reece is a steamy paranormal romance author writing wickedly wild romance. She is currently working on the shifter romance series, The Shifters of Grey Ridge and the Steel Pack Alphas.
She loves creating steamy stories about hot, growly alpha men and the women who love and torment them.
She writes for people just like her who love a little light-hearted fun with their naughty heroes and edge-of-your-seat storylines.
Unfortunately, this was a DNF. I started and stopped multiple times and just couldn't get past the 25% mark.
I had such high hopes for Ethan's story—he was a favorite side character in the earlier Shifters of Grey Ridge books—but I did not like the direction this book took him in.
Namely, continuing to parade another woman in front of his fated mate, even while knowing how much it hurt her, really pissed me off.
"Everything I ever do will be for us. It's hard to see that right now, I know, Belle, but even this is for us." 🙄
This seemed so out of character for the loyal beta we met before.
Perhaps it's a me thing, and I am just not in the mood for OW drama right now (or these past five months), but I could see Belle giving in to the 'fated mates' trap and granting him blanket forgiveness. I hate that. Have a backbone!

I love Reece’s books normally, however, found it hard to get into this one. I don’t know if I just didn’t connect with the characters or what but it wasn’t the best compared to the rest of the series. Worth the read to continue on with the plot of the pack, but I’m honestly just waiting for Chase’s story. This one was alright, nothing to write home about.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰: Shifters of Grey Ridge Book 5. While each book follows a new couple and can be read as a standalone, there is a story arc that continues through the whole series. Therefore, it is STRONGLY recommend you read the books in order to get the most of the story and to avoid spoilery situations for prior books.
𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Ethan is on a mission to get to the bottom of the ongoing threats against the Grey Ridge pack, and he’s even more determined to do so after feeling guilty and responsible for what happened to Leah.
Belle, a member of the Steel pack, is on a mission of her own when her and Ethan’s paths cross. Putting these fated mates in each other’s presence proves to be an instant and steamy encounter… but can they still complete their individual missions while keeping their mate bond a secret?
I continue to get endless enjoyment with each new story in the world Reece has created with these books. This book had me in its grips the whole time just waiting to see what would happen. There has been an ongoing plot line since book one so it was riveting to finally have some closure to the questions that have been building for so long!
This story definitely hits all the high points. From the loyalty, trust and love… to the heartbreak, sacrifice and betrayal. The suspenseful plot line makes the story fly by and I can honestly say this one shocked me. I’ve loved Ethan’s playful manner since the beginning for the series but we definitely get to see his more serious and protective side here. I loved Belle’s character also. Such and strong and resilient FMC, but also just as fiercely protective and possessive as Ethan. Such a good match!
I’m not sure what gave me the idea that this may be the last Grey Ridge book 🤔, and I honestly forgot all about Hayley and Leah’s brother Chase! But ohhhh boy, I can’t wait for him to learn all of the Grey Ridge secrets! Looking forward to a book for him! 🤞🏼
“This pussy is mine. Do you hear me?” My possessive growl sends goosebumps across her skin. “I’m going to fill it with my seed and claim you as my own.”
“Careful, Belle. I might be all smiles, but I’m not above spanking that cheeky ass if you tease me too much.”
“You will go back and finish what you went there to do, and so will I. Because that’s who we are.”
I have been reading the books in order and this story just seemed to be missing a lot. I felt like the connection to Belle was lacking. We learned nothing about her. The switch from scene to scene is lacking. There is jo transition most of the time.
But the timeline is so off. In book 4 Haley gives birth before when Ethan is still gone but then in book 5 Haley is still pregnant when he comes back with his mate. Makes zero sense. Book seems rushed and just no thought put into it. This author needs a good editor to help out.
The plot of this book had me in choke hold. I was supposed to read this book as a break and up just reading the book without doing anything that I was supposed to. Ethan and Belle's will they/won't they was such a good plot device and I literally couldn't put this book down. Not only was that a thing but literally both Ethan and Belle are such strong characters for going through what they did. Like damn. I have mad respect for both them, Belle especially.
The Alpha’s Quest follows Ethan as he finally meets his fated mate and tries to solve the mystery behind who is responsible for the attacks on the Grey Ridge pack. I’ve been looking forward to Ethan’s story since meeting his character in The Alpha’s Saviour and it was worth the wait. I liked that the female Ethan was fated to was just as strong of a character as he was and that they both had their own missions to finish before everything between them could be settled, although it did make me feel quite anxious whilst I was reading that everything was up in the air. I also loved the conclusion (or what I think is the conclusion at this point) of the mystery surrounding the attacks on Grey Ridge. I didn’t see that ending coming and my guesses were in a totally different direction so it was an awesome surprise. I also loved the introduction of Chase in the epilogue and I’m looking forward to the book about him being released. Overall, this is a fantastic instalment in the series and I really enjoyed it, I would definitely recommend giving it a read.
POV: Dual Perspective: First Person Pace: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Meh. I went into this expecting some OW drama as described by some reviews but all I got was a bunch of nonsense.
I did like Belle, for the most part. And while I didn't have a real opinion on Ethan from what I've read of the series I'm surprised I never actually cared about him at all. He was just there, I guess.
I felt the supposed OW drama was a bit blown out of proportion tbh. It wasn't that big a deal or even a huge part of the story. It hardly felt like there was another woman tbh because though Lucia was around and occasionally touching Ethan and acting territorial it's not as if Ethan was kissing her or still having sex with her after he found Belle. So...🤷🏻♀️
I didn't feel much about them as a couple either. It had potential, true, but when Ethan claimed he loved Belle I couldn't help but laugh. Like, dude you've boned a handful of times and you have a bond...but he had hardly actually spent any time with her or had any real conversations either. It was really hard for me to buy it wasn't just the bond, instincts and lust.
Anyway! This might be spoilery so beware!
I was disappointed with how completely dumb and weak Ethan looked by not figuring things out about Lucia and essentially getting played by her throughout the entire series. Some beta he was. And I found it frustrating the author didn't let us in on what was going on. That vague dancing around the topic was not cute in the slightest. I didn't understand why Belle miraculously came up with the idea to infiltrate the Bear pack and I sure didn't understand why they all thought it'd be a good idea to send another female wolf into his territory considering the last two had gone missing?? And like Belle ran the risk of going into heat too? Which I assume could have still happened despite her rejecting Ethan??
And what was up with that? She literally rejected Ethan for NOTHING. Everything that occurred after she did that didn't require her to reject him. Upon his return Ethan was immediately on Lucia's bad side, she pretty much dropped her entire good girl act and made it obvious she was up to no good and didn't trust him. Was keeping him prisoner more or less too. And somehow they felt it was a good thing she rejected him because he wouldn't have passed Lucia's test of fondling him in front of Belle and Marcus's dad when they visited the Bears...hm no. All pointless tbh.
Oh! And who finds it appropriate or the right time to attempt to sexting when you're in such a dire situation? Poorly done. Like... realistically that's just impossible for me to imagine. 🙄
And on that note...I DID like seeing more Bodhi. And I'm hoping Chase won't be a moron. I also found Billy intriguing too.
Honestly I thought Nathan's story was the worst and dehumanizing towards women but this is just cruelty porn. I ignored the gut feeling that Ethan was an unrepentant dehumanizing MANWHORE during Cooper's story but the red flags were there when he kissed Hayley on the cheek because she was hot. His character was already lacking integrity in Cooper's story so I don't know why I didn't reason that cheating on his h would be out of his wheelhouse. 🙄 Lesson learned.
The story starts with Ethan leaving Grey Ridge to go have sex with his casual whore Lucia when he meets his mate Belle. Does that stop Ethan from fucking BOTH women? NO. 🙄
Writing fated mates with on page sex scene with OW and romanticizing the H flaunt the OW touching and groping him in front of his mate is WERIDO behavior.
Please go to therapy because you clearly have some deeply internalized misogyny if you delight in writing women getting absolutely DOGGED out and humiliated like that when you have the power to write LITERALLY anything in a shifter universe and you cannot for the life of you fathom writing women getting treated with basic dignity.
Romanticizing cheating after the H realizes that the h is his fated mate is just outing yourself as a misogynistic author. It's giving accomplice to men in the worst way. Fiction gives you the opportunity to write heroines enjoying literally anything and your choice to not only write cheating but to celebrate it as a romance. What a choice....
Whoever he is, I hope he picks you girl...
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Virgin h Manwhore H HEAVY OWD/ Cheating H OW1: Lucia is his casual whore who we see him fuck on page - he spent a few years casually fucking her and we see him praying that Lucia would become his mate but he meets Belle OW2: Kim a she-wolf he would share with Nathan when they were bored No OMD Cheating- H is with OW after mating with Belle (this is on page) Avoid
This book gave me so much anxiety. Like no joke. Dear lord. Not only that, but it also gave me a headache. Literally.
The plot just felt like a mess, and I don't know if it's because my brain is too small to wrap around everything that happened or not, but Jesus Christ.
I never liked Ethan in the earlier books, no reason really, I just didn't, and I really didn't like him in this one. I get that what he did was "for the plot" or whatever but it just makes me feel icky.
Belle was... I honestly don't know. I don't think I even have an opinion about her. She was there. She did stuff. That's it.
I didn't like the last book, but I was hoping this one would be better. It wasn't. I'm tired. Just so tired. I picked this series up because I was in the mood for some fun werewolf romance but instead I got this. Yeah, there were some good parts, but mostly it was pretty... meh.
Am I gonna continue? Maybe. I am, despite myself, intrigued by this world. I mean, I accidentally started reading the Alpha Games series first, and like halfway through the first book I was like "hang on" and wouldn't you know it, it was connected to this series, and of course I had to read it before finishing that.
I do really want to read Blake's book, but apparently that's in another series. Sigh. Am I switching to that before finishing this? Probably. Another sigh.
Why do I do this to myself?
Side note, wtf was that ending?? Chase is something more? What does that even mean???
Ethan was and is the lovable beta of the pack. He feels responsible what happened with Leah. He made sure she was protected well, when he went to meet Lucia, but Leah was kidnapped! She was bound and thrown into the cold and rushing waters. Ethan was able to find her in the water, and bring her to safety. She was able to be revived, from nearly drowning. Ethan knew that it was trouble going on, and he needed to find out who was behind all this. Ethan was bound and determined to find out who the mastermind was. He felt like he owed his pack those answers. While driving to see Lucia, he had a sudden urge to pull over and rest. He could not explain it, but that was just exactly what it was needed. He booked a cabin at a nearby little rest spot, with five cabins. He saw only one darkened, he was in luck! Walking by to his cabin, with a night breeze in the air, he picked up on a scent that he needed to find more about! That was the most delicious scent he had ever smelled in his entire life, and it was behind 1 of the cabin doors. Could his favorite mate be this close to him? This book had a lot going on. Twist and turns at every bend.
I have been reading Reece’s books for a couple of years now, but life had me falling behind. I finally got the chance to re-read The Greys Ridge series, and I just read Ethan and Belle’s story in one night. I have loved Ethan since he was introduced in Cooper’s book. He is charming, whitty, and charismatic. I was hoping he would find a mate that was his equal, and Belle’s character was exactly that. I was hoping that he did not end up with Lucia since he left to go to her pack. I knew she was a conniving, manipulative, flail wolf. Belle was Alpha Steele’s enforcer, and I was hopeful she was going to be a match in ever since of the word to Ethan. The chemistry was off the charts form the very first few chapters. I loved the story and the twists and turns. I was in the edge of my seat biting my nails throughout the whole book. I loved the plot and the character development. I cannot wait to continue to read Reece’s books and continue to dive into the Grey ridge and Steele pack stories. Reece certainly did not disappoint!
How the FMC Bella managed not to rip the MMC Ethan to shreds I don’t know! I’m not even a wolf and I was annoyed at him 🤣
Ethan is trying desperately to make amends for feeling like he let his family down when one of their wives was hurt on his watch. He thinks that trying to understand the other wolf pack who was involved might help them in understanding who has it out for their pack. That means getting close to the luna, which he was fine with doing when he was a single man, not so easy to do when he meets his fated mate but has to keep up with his secrets.
Bella is trying really hard to be diplomatic, she didn’t know she was going to meet her mate when he was in the middle of trying to figure out who was hurting his pack, that’s really hard to do when emotions and her wolf are riding her hard to kick any other woman’s butt who thinks they can come near her man.
Love this series. I’m 6 books in so that’s pretty obvious at this point that I’m 100% invested 🤣
This book is an incredible rollercoaster that you won't want to get off. It starts off with a sizzling night of passion and digs deeper into the mystery surrounding Toby's unaliving, Leah's unfortunate @tt@ck, and Leon's Bear Clan. It is action and steam packed from the start and just keeps building as the book goes on. You will laugh (especially at Maria), cry, get angry, and find joy from time to time. The characters do not have an easy relationship, so my only true spoiler is that this book does have a HFN ending with a twist you don't want to miss.
Note: this not a stand-alone book. In fact, it crosses over with Nathan's story for a time. You will not understand many points of the plot if you have not read the rest of the Grey Ridge Series
I received this book from the author in return for my honest feedback

This is book seven of the series and I am reading them all and invested in the shifters of Grey Ridge. I liked Ethan and Belle, but this was not my favorite book. I am not a fan of when Ethan would not tell his brothers anything about what he was doing. Belle is an enforcer for Alpha Blake, apparently, but he was in the loop on this project. Ethan and Belle both were working undercover but separately on the same project but kept the details to themselves. That seemed to put me off. This book does give more details of how the Bear Clan was involved. The Bear Clan time was the most interesting part. I am impressed at how much mating that Bodhi and Marcus’ dad continues to do. There is a happy ending for Ethan and Belle. The epilogue brings Chase to the table. Read On!
This is actually 2.5 ⭐️ instead of 3. One of the things to knocked it down for me was when Billy got Ethan a burner phone and let Belle call Ethan from his phone…they sext, they exchange some info and then hang up. Now Belle has a good reason to give the phone back and is placed back under watch. Ethan however…though he’s locked in his room still has the phone and NOT ONCE thinks to use it to contact his pack or Alpha Steel and at least give them the info so they are aware and alert??? These are supposed to be smart people. I think I read too many of these in a row. Glad there is a lull between now and when the next book comes bc I actually do like the characters and want to see what happens with Bodhi and Natalie and their respective mates.

This was so good!!!! I was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing right from the start. I loved how these two went right for it without any drama once they saw each other and realized they were each others mates. I had started this book a ways back but put it down because I couldn't get into it and I was very much distracted by the spin off with Alpha Steele. But I'm glad I came back to it.
Of course all the drama came later and omg the drama it was!!!!!
I just love these characters and I'm so invested in all of them. This author just amazes me with all the fresh stories and the excitement and the steam and love and family.
Ethan has made it his quest to get to the source of the threats against Grey Ridge pack, knowing there isn’t a better way to do so than infiltrate the enemy pack by getting closer to the Alpha’s daughter. On the way there, by chance, he meets his fated mate, Belle.
Working for the safety of their packs and each carrying secrets of their own with them, know that their bond jeopardizes their missions. But as unmarked fated werewolves, they can only stand so much secrecy and distance between them, forcing Belle to reject Ethan in lieu of their operation.
What ensues is a whirlwind of suspense and action, to ensure that their sacrifices will be worth it in the end to save their packs.
Over the last couple of books there has been this mystery about who has been targeting the main family - this book answers those questions. Unfortunately it's pretty obvious what's going on which makes the main characters look pretty stupid.
But speaking of stupid - if the bad guys take your phone but you need to get information to your team and somehow you end up with another phone... FUCKING USE IT!
Also - it's pretty well established in this series that certain shifters can mind-link each other. Again, if you have the ability and need to share vital information FUCKING USE IT!
This is such a great story but honestly… Honour is the most important thing to Ethan and Belle, no matter the cost, but talk about wanting something so bad but, never grabbing it with both hands! I could just scream at both of them! This story has far more depth than you initially think. When you think you know what’s going to happen then something else unfolds. This is a very, very good story with interesting characters, and multiple layers to their personalities. This is a consuming and emotional story. 5 stars!
I'll get straight into it, for me personally, I couldn't really get into the book. The writing was great as always, I wanted to find out what had gone on and how things were going to end; which I did. But, well, sometimes I think with reading it just depends on how attached you are to the characters and Ethan, as fantastic as he is for a Beta to the Jones' family, he wasn't all that easy for me to grow attached to. 5/10 and I'd still recommend you give this story a shot, it's a decent read and who knows, you might like it more than I did.
Let me start by saying ethan was my favorite since book one and honestly i wasn’t disappointed in this book. The plot is finally solved and i felt like i couldnt put the book down till i understand who is behind what and i wanted to know how it ends all in all top notch! Loved both ethan and belle and they were perfecttt together and same lavel of badass!! would have loved to see more of their relationship since it was more focused on the plot throughout and a bit of background on belle since a lot was implied yet not explained about her (especially her pack and family life).
I really don't prefer when the main characters are intimate by the first 2 chapters but once I got over that, this book was such a page turner. I've been pining away, waiting for Ethan's story and it does not disappoint! It was fun to see a more in depth view of the bear clan and I freaking KNEW Toby wasn't dead yet. It's like x-men; if you don't see them die, then they didn't! I feel like the author has almost finished tying up the loose ends and I look forward to the next installment
This one was *chef's kiss* perfection. Ethan meets Belle right at the beginning and as a seasoned reader I was confused. I mean, they're together before 10% of the book, so this will be an easy ride. Boy, was I wrong. So many things happen, and the pain of the characters can be felt through the page. Wow. I couldn't put this one down, even though the pain was affecting me, I knew the ending would be worth it! And it was.
This book is perfection, the plot, the spice, the yearning, the characters, and Marie being Marie in her most Marie-y way. Loved it! Devoured it in one sitting!
Reece you have done it again! Every time i am just pulled into the world you have created. Ethan has been a favorite since the beginning so I was excited to see what would happen. And holy cow! What a whirlind of emotions... I feel like I have whiplash... but in the best possible way! Ethan continued being the man he always was. And i have the biggest crush on belle... what a badass! What they went through to be together was harrowing. A great continuation of the series!
What an exciting book to read! Reece Barden has created such great stories with great plots and characters. The Alpha’s Quest is an awesome addition to the series. I loved the action in this. Seeing the continuing story of dealing with Leon Lennox and Lucia was exciting. With lots of ups and downs, it’s great to see Ethan finally happy. Belle and Ethan are perfect mates.
This literally might be my favorite book out of the whole series. Ethan is a dream literally. With the long blonde hair in the blue eyes and the muscles he is every girls Ken doll wet dream. And Belle is a complete bad ass chick. I want to be Bill so badly. The and the hurt and the ups and downs in the story Were so good. The plot twist. The end of an era for really bad villains. The spice. It was such a good book oh my God!
I loved Ethan from the start of the shifters of grey ridge so happy to read his story. Knew there was more too why he was staying away from his pack as much as he did but so glad he met his mate, him and Belle are perfect for each other. Can’t wait to read more. Defo recommend
