A Magic Crush Second-Chance Paranormal Romance

Previously published as Forget Me Not by Maureen L. Bonatch. The car accident totaled Sabrina Post’s convertible and reinvented her memories. She can't recall dumping Noah Dawson ten years ago. What her new clairvoyant visions tell Sabrina is that he’s her husband. Any practical girl would question her sanity. But if Sabrina wants to make this imaginary future a reality, she'll have to regain Noah’s trust and eliminate her rival, the coffee shop waitress who’s pegged Noah as husband #4. To prove she’s foreseen their destiny, Sabrina stirs Noah’s interest by revealing specifics she couldn’t have otherwise known about him. Unfortunately, the one detail he vividly remembers is the pain when she left him and their "rinky-dink" town in her rearview mirror. If Noah can't believe she's a changed woman, can Sabrina accept that her only second chance at love exists in her memories? Witchy Memory is a paranormal romance in the Magic Crush series. If you love stories full of magic and second-chance romance, then you’ll love this short, sweet, magical story by M.L. Bonatch.

In most of my writing I like to look for the extraordinary in the ordinary, maybe even a little magic. Then I add a dash of humor, because life shouldn’t be so serious ( Although I do enjoy throwing in the horrific, or heavily sarcastic, villian now and again, because that’s just fun).
I live in Pennsylvania with the love of my life, and wildly imaginative twin daughters.

This is a fantastic shoulda-coulda-woulda story!

Sabrina left her home town and her beloved Cole behind shen she fled 10 years ago. She didn't want to be the reason that he stayed at home, when he had dreams of seeing the world with the armed forces. She didn't want to be resented by them, not when they had found perfect happily ever after love so early in life. She doesn't even come home when her dad died. But when she has a car accident and then sees flashes of another life, one that includes Cole, she returns home.

Cole is her husband in these flashes - so is she seeing flashes of an alternative life of what life would have been like if she had stayed or is she seeing a possible future life with him? When other flashes begin to make sense she knows she has to get Cole to understand why she left town and that she does still love him!

Brilliantly sweet story! Lovely writing and strong sympathetic characters! I loved the small town feel and the all that goes with that life, friendly match making, rumour mills and zero privacy!!! I really want to read more and hope this is the first in a series!!!

I began this book confused, befuddled, wondering what was going on, and that's a good thing. I instantly understood how a car accident affected the heroine's memory...or was it premonitions that she was having?

This story about a woman returning home, finding a man she once left, and then re-igniting their flame kept me reading past my bedtime. So much was packed into a short length. Very enjoyable!

Sabrina Post wakes up from a very bad car accident calling for her husband, Cole. The only thing is, she isn't married to Cole. She had left Cole behind to go from her small town to NYC for a career. But why does she keep seeing her life married to Cole? She keeps getting premonitions and when she tells her sister who is driving her back to PA to recuperate at her mother's, her sister is confused. Why is she seeing things? Is this how her future is supposed to be? And when she sees Cole, he really doesn't want to have anything to do with her. How can she ever fulfill her prophesy - her premonitions? Cole has been hurt badly by Sabrina and tells her there's not turning back. Can she ever convince him that she is not the same person? Can she get him to see her and love her again? Will he ever go back to Sabrina? This is a wonderful clean romance that can be read in one sitting - a romance that will tug at your heart strings. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

A second chance at love? Why not! This is a tale of love lost--or maybe given up--and then regained. Maybe. Sabrina hopes.

What a clever, fun book! I enjoyed every minute.

I found this story not only intriguing but fabulous. The way it was told is wonderful, and to be honest quite captivating. You delve straight into the world of Sabrina Post, a woman who has just woken up after a serious car accident, who has memories that never happened of a husband and a life she desperately wants. Sigh sounds good doesn't it? Well it's so much better. A must read novella by a must read author.

The Review:

The car accident that totaled Sabrina Post's car also reinvented her memories. She can't remember dumping Cole Dawsen ten years ago, instead her new clairvoyant visions tell Sabrina, he's her husband.
Sabrina is torn between wondering if her sanity is in tact and wanting the imaginary future her reality. She'll have to regain Cole's trust and eliminate her rival, the coffee shop waitress who's pegged Cole as husband #4.
To prove she's foreseen their destiny, Sabrina stirs Cole's interest by revealing specifics about him, she otherwise couldn't know. Sadly all Cole remembers clearly the pain of her leaving him and their "rinky-dink" town in her review mirror.
If Cole can't believe she's a changed woman, can Sabrina accept the only second chance she has at love exists in her memories?

I hope that prospective readers don't misunderstand me when I say that reading this book was a lot like watching a Lifetime movie, but it was. But in all the best ways! It was short and sweet and had the predicted HEA ending. I enjoyed the story of a young woman who, after a serious car accident, determines to convalesce at home in the small Pennsylvania town she left for the bright lights of New York City. I am a sucker for rekindled romances, where the main characters knew each other in high school or college, are apart for several years, and then reconnect after some life experience and that is exactly what happens here. This is a sweet romance (i.e. no sex scenes), so I feel comfortable recommending it to anyone who enjoys reading romance. What earned the four-out-of-five rating is the fact that the "book" is really just an extended short story. I'm not even sure you could consider it a novella-length work and I want readers to make sure that they understand what they are buying. It is still a great story, but for me to feel like I've made a wise investment, I would love to see this story bundled with others in the series to get the page count up to novel length before charging novel-length prices.

Can you really have memories of the future?
Sabrina Post left behind her small hometown, but it seems it never really left her when she headed off for the city. When she suffers a fate-full car crash and flashes of an alternate future linger longer than her physical effects of the accident, she realizes she’s been given a gift.
Going back to her childhood home to recuperate Sabrina soon faces her ex, Cole, who just happens to be playing the leading role as her husband in her memory flashes. Dealing with conflicting feelings of past, present, and future as well as small-town gossip, Sabrina must decide what’s most important in determining her true fate.
A fun, and unusual twist on a what-could’ve-been story. I really enjoyed the flashes of future scenarios and it kept me guessing what she would see next. The supporting characters were heartwarming and really brought the small town to life for me.

Sabrina’s had a car accident and thinks she’s crazy because of visions she’s been having. Cole has had his heart broken by Sabrina ten years ago. When she comes back to her small home town to heal and continues having vivid memories of being married to Cole, whom she dumped, she sets out to make her fake memories a reality. The only trouble is… Cole’s been hurt too badly by her in the past to try any kind of future with her again. Add an obnoxious waitress waiting to get her hooks into Cole and you’ve got a fun, flirty, original story of love, loss, and what could have been all rolled into a psychic love story.

I absolutely loved this book. With some Novella’s I’ve found it hard to get into the characters very deeply. Not so with Maureen L. Bonatch’s Forget Me Not. She’s captured the essence of these characters beautifully on the pages, added some snark and humor, and kept me turning the pages until the end.

Well done. I highly recommend this story!

This is an intriguing story that held my interest right from the start. Sabrina left her small town behind ten years ago for a career in the city. That doesn’t mean she’s forgotten her life there or Cole, the boy she loved. Following a car accident, she begins having memories that lead her home. They’re memories of Cole and their life together—a life that never happened. Once home and recovering, she discovers the memories aren’t memories at all, but visions of a life that could be.
This is a story of second chances, a potential “do over” and a love that never died. Both Cole and Sabrina have changed—he’s now a war hero and she’s a nurse. But there’s a little magic in the candy heart that advises, “Forget me not”. Not many of us get the opportunity to make choices we may regret over again. I really enjoyed this tale of life making a loop during the worst of circumstances. Definitely an author to follow.

Recovering from a car accident, Sabrina Post returns from Manhattan, New York to Rosewood, a small rural town in Pennsylvania, to recover. Her injury has enabled her to have flash forwards about her future life.

Ten years ago she left Cole Dawson who has returned from serving in Afghanistan and who suffers a war injury. He is managing his father’s hardware store, now renamed the Toolbox.
In “Forget Me Not,” Sabrina must consider her life and her future by getting visions of what her future will be. Will she leave a rewarding medical position in the big city where she enjoys her privacy? Can she relocate and live in a small town where everyone knows each other’s business? And, can she mend the hurt and misunderstanding between Cole and herself which will allow them to fall in love again?

This is an enjoyable story that engages the reader and keeps him/her turning the pages right up to the end.

Second Chances at Love!

Sabrina returns home to find that she can’t remember much about the past but she keeps imagining her husband and when she finds out he is her ex-boyfriend, Cole that she dumped for the big city what is she to do? She tries to win him back and he doesn’t want to let himself get his hopes up. He is afraid his heart can’t take it again.

When Sabrina surprises him and buys a coffee shop in town to prove she isn’t going anywhere. The heat they once had ignites even more than before. Cole hasn’t gotten over her and she knows she will always love him.

I like this story. Sabrina tried to go her own way and to let Cole go his by joining the army. She knew their relationship wasn’t going to work long distance. She wasn’t as happy as she thought she would be and missed her family and her “rinky-dink” town. Cole did follow his heart and gave Sabrina a second chance. She had proven to him she had changed for the better.

I recommend this story.

When Sabrina sustains a head injury in a serious car wreck, she starts having visions of an alternate reality that freak her out a bit. She's having trouble distinguishing fact from fiction at first, like the fact that she never did marry her high school sweetheart. Cole never got over her although he has moved on with his life. When Sabrina goes home to recuperate, the visions intensify, and totally show her that she should be with Cole. But how to convince him she's not crazy?

This is a fast, sweet tale with a dash of paranormal that will keep you rooting for that happily ever after right through to the end. Maureen Bonatch does a wonderful job of weaving the psychic visions into reality to make them seem so normal. I loved this well written story of second chances and hope to read more from this author very soon! 5 sweet candy hearts for this sweet story!

What would you do if you could see your own future? An unfortunate car accident has left Sabrina Post bruised, battered, and with a head full of confusing visions. The fact that the visions include a husband she doesn’t have make her wonder if she’s losing her mind. Seeking some much needed recuperation, Sabrina takes a medical leave from her big-city nursing job and heads to her small hometown.

Cole Dawson has spent the last ten years trying to forget Sabrina and how she left him with a broken heart. Unfortunately, it only takes one glance and he realizes he’s not as over her as he’d hoped.

Can Sabrina and Cole rekindle their damaged romance? Author Maureen L. Bonatch leads them in the right direction.

Now, if they can only rid themselves of the thrice-married hussy intent on claiming Cole for herself.

A serious car accident sends Rena Post back to the small town she left years ago in order to rest and recoup. Little does she know the man she left behind would still be there. Waiting? Maybe, maybe not.
For every woman who lived the small town life, where everybody knows your name--and business--then got out to make something of themselves, Forget Me Not is for you. So many things will ring true. So many times your heart will break for this woman and the man she left behind.
The story captured my heart from the first page. By the end of chapter one I was hooked.
Don't make any plans because once you pick this one up, you won't be able to put it down.
Well done, Ms Bonatch.

(request submitted by author for an honest critique)

Many events can alter a person's views on life; make them reevaluate what's important. Sabrina's wreck was the wake-up call she desperately needed. With the head injury, she gained insight into the future and realized love is more important than money.

Luckily for her, she was given a second chance ---- in life and in love.

For me, Cole and Sabrina's short story can be described in one word --- SWEET -- much like the sweetheart candies that brought them together, again.

HEA, but you already knew that. Hello, it's a love story and centers around Valentine's Day so anything less would be scoffed at. :)

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

I love the concept of this book. Sabrina’s in an accident and begins to have visions of a wonderful life with Cole, the guy she left behind 10 years ago. It makes me think of those holiday movies where the person sees what their life would have been like had they made a different decision years ago. But this is a different twist on that trope.

Sabrina has to figure out what the visions mean and evaluate her life. And bring Cole around to forgiving her for leaving all those years ago.

This was a sweet story that I really enjoyed.

Memories of the future? Is that possible?
For Sabrina a car accident created memories of the future, with a beau from the past. The catch, the beau, Cole, needs to believe Sabrina is not the same person that left him and her small town for the bright lights of Manhattan.
I found this fun and flirty read very enjoyable. A story of second chances with a psychic twist is unique. A quick paces with heart. I highly recommend it.

Sometimes it takes a bop in the head to clear a person’s vision of the future. In this case, an accident shakes up a woman so badly she begins to see how life would look if she gave up city life and returned to a small town...and the man she left there ten years ago. A sweet, warm-hearted story that will coax readers to reassess the moves they made in their impetuous youth. A romantic happily-ever-after...perfect for Valentine's Day!
