This book is written in a comic book type format but wasn't hard to follow for a younger reader. (A good way to introduce a reader to the comic book style.) It has several large words that a beginning reader would have a hard time reading so I would say this is probably a level 3 or 4 book. But it's written where a beginning reader does understand and could read most alone. Anyone that likes Batman and super heroes would enjoy this book. My son that doesn't like to be read to or try and learn to read sat and listened to this book as I read to him due to Batman and Robin doing what they do and saving the day! In this book they figure out a mystery and save important people at a Costume Ball. This book was easily to follow and action wasn't so intense you got lost in it. Just a good book.
This was a bedtime story that Fritz selected. He is such a Batman fan. Frankly, this was a little darker than the Batman I like (Adam West). The graphics are colorful and expressive.
Fritz loves bedtime stories and this is his favorite superhero. For that, this is was a fun read. On my own . . . eh.
