An incredibly vanilla plot with nothing fun to share with younger readers. Appropriate for little children or easily spooked elderly folks.

Bruna wasn't very poetic here and I thought Snuffy's interactions were pretty lacking, but it made me want to get a dog, so that's something. I miss Ella. We had to get rid of her while I was in college. She was outgrowing our space, and started disobeying more. And I don't blame her. In Tennessee we had a lot of land for her to run around on. Now, in Florida, we don't even have a grass backyard. And the house is significantly smaller.

We gave her to close friends who have another dog and they spoil them both, and offer a lot more space for Ella. But still.

I remember when she was still a baby and she'd waddle in my room like a penguin--she was so small, maybe a little larger than a tennis ball. Her eyes were so big. And she'd carefully walk through my room past the canvases and paint brushes and paint tubes and books all on the floor, put her soft wet nose against my leg, look up, pause, then hobble away.

She was a great dog. There were many moments I shared with her. She was a beautiful dog.

It would be a wonderful thing for a child to grow up and be close with a pet--a friend--such as Ella.
